Gorgeous pool house with breathtaking sunset views!
If you are looking for a private getaway in the middle paradise, this is the house for you. You will be amazed at the grand covered open air kitchen, dining room and terrace pool with waterfall. This space is palatial and we felt like we were living the dream. We loved everything from the steep, adventurous driveway (4 wheel drive IS necessary) to our sunset drinks every evening in the pool. All 3 bedrooms are air conditioned. The Master had impressive views of the bay and lush Nicaraguan countryside. The TV in the den comes equipped with an Amazon Firestick, so make sure you have a Netflix, Hulu, etc. subscription. Please note that the bedroom adjacent to the den is the coolest in the house for those, like us, that require crazy-strong A/C. There is no door separating the spacious Master Bath from The Master bedroom, modest-minded folks. We cooked every evening, thoroughly utilizing the fully stocked, updated outdoor kitchen and grilled right in our covered open air living room. We are a middle aged couple who lives to travel but this was our first trip to Nicaragua. Staying at Casa Morada made us dream of packing up the house and relocating immediately to San Juan Del Sur. Housekeeping and security are included with your stay. Security is available 24 hours and is very receptive to all requests. If you tell them that you prefer your privacy, they generally respect your requests. If you are seeking expansive outdoor living space, memorable sunsets, your own private pool, and a charming introduction to Nicaragua, you won't find a better house than Casa Morada. We are already eagerly planning our next stay.
Great house for two families!
We had a fantastic stay. Our group consisted of two families with a total of 4 kids ranging in age from 10-13. The location was great... far enough out of town that is was quiet, but close enough in that it was easy to drive in to town or to a number of beaches. Having a 4WD vehicle was really helpful with the rough roads and steep driveway. Our local contact person for the house spoke fluent English and even met us there when we arrived at midnight (much later than planned) to show us around. We loved the open air style of the house and even with the hot weather, there were always comfortable areas out of the sun and a nice breeze to keep us comfortable. Be prepared for the occasional scorpion and spider though! The rooms had functioning air conditioning and were comfortable at night. The pool was fantastic - large, clean and with a great view. We also had a wonderful woman, Clara, who cooked our breakfasts and dinners and kept up the house. It was great to not have to drive in to town or cook our meals and our kids especially loved her cooking. Surprisingly the highlight of the house was the pet monkey! He was so sweet and fun to play with... endless entertainment for adults and kids! I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it. Thank you!
We had a great stay! Sunsets are incredible in the evening :)
Great home and great location.
Our first time visiting Nicaragua and everything was fantastic. The home is located with amazing views of the coast and the San Juan Del Sur as well as the Statue of Christ of the Mercy which looks amazing overlooking the town at night.
The house was great. Clean and well equipped for our stay. The pool was immaculate and cleaned on a daily basis (early in the morning) so it we always good to go when we arose each day. Air conditioning in all of the bedrooms worked great and ensured we had a great nights sleep.
The house is staffed 24/7 by a grounds keeper who ensures not only that the property is kept up but also that the property is secure. In addition to the grounds keeper the house is located in a community of 6-7 other properties with a gate keeper at the front gate so it's totally secure. I would say that it did not feel like we were in a community as the property is large with thick surrounding growth so the other homes are not visible.
The home owner hooked us up with a not only a driver for the week but also a house keeper for the stay who prepared breakfast and dinner for us each day as well as taking care of our laundry and cleaning. The driver stayed in the garage "mother in law" with us for the week so he was available at any time while the house keeper came and went as needed. Both were ridiculously affordable and honestly made the vacation truly amazing. The driver (Roj) took care of booking all of our excursions for us and made sure we had the best deals for zip lining, diving (both in the volcanic lakes as well as the ocean), boat charter, surf lessons (a must), Volcano tour, etc.
We stayed 10 days and are already looking at dates to return (10 days is not enough). You will not be disappointed with this accommodate. The house is great but the human resources and care shown by their recommended driver (Roj) and house keeper (Clara) made the stay amazing.
My husband and our 2 daughters stayed here for 9 days and absolutely loved it. The views are spectacular and you are far enough away from 'it all' that there is no noise pollution, but close enough to everything that the location was perfect. Although we travel quite a bit, this was our first trip to Nicaragua so we did not know what to expect. The owner Chris was very helpful prior to departing for our trip and made it very well known that if we needed anything, we shouldn't hesitate to ask. Chris recommended a lot of activities for us and we wanted to hire a drive during our stay and Chris made an introduction there too. The house comes with care takers - Edwin and Carlos and although we knew they were there and would come and assist in a heartbeat, they stayed out of our way - so we always felt like we had a private house even though others were on the property. Edwin's wife Clara is an amazing cook - so you should absolutely hire her to prepare your meals - we all feel that this was one of our best decisions on the trip! If you are looking to get away from it all while having everything you need at your fingertips, this is the house for you!
So glad you and your family had a great time. And I'll send along thanks to Clara and Roj.
Excellent vacation in beautiful home
My husband and I spent a week at Casa Morada with 3 friends and it was a terrific decision. Let me start by saying the views were more spectacular than the pictures let on - there were ocean views from virtually everywhere in the house! The house was completely open-air except the bedrooms (cool air-conditioning there!); so we focused all meals and activities around the pool, patio and dining areas. The house had everything that we needed; if we couldn't find something, the caretakers were never far off (but not intrusive). I woke-up early one morning (6AM) and I spotted the staff cleaning the pool, kitchen and decks.
The pool was larger than it looked in the pictures and it had built-in seats and a table for enjoying a beverage while soaking. The house also had blow-up floating chaise loungers to use and about 10% of the pool was shaded by the house so you could escape the sun if you wished. There were also lots of sitting areas above the pool deck; some in the sun, some in the shade. The patio area had couches, chairs, a bar, a hammock and some built-in seating. This area could probably seat 15+ people.
The master bedroom had panoramic views with windows on three sides and it had two balconies (one with a hammock with incredible pacific views). The master bathroom had a rain shower fixture, two sinks and a huge built-in closet unit on the bathroom wall. We didn’t try the separate soaking tub.
Overall, it was a beautiful house and a great choice for us.
