Enjoy a wonderful luxury, tropical villa that sleeps 6 for less than a night at The Fairmont Orchid, Mauna Lani Auberge or Four Seasons at Hualalai Hotels. This Lehua Villa is located within The Villages at Mauna Lani. Access card is provided to the Mauna Lani owners private beach club where you can swim with the turtles, snorkel and kayak, or dine at the great on-site restaurant, Napua.

The Villages is a gated community located within the prestigious Mauna Lani Resort, famous for the Francis H. I’I Brown, 36 hole golf complex. World class golf, tennis, pristine beaches and private spa are just a few of the many resort amenities. The Villages also includes its own exercise facility with a HEATED pool and spa.

This 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath, 2175 square foot, (plus 400 square feet of outdoor lanai) 2 story Villa home offers luxury resort living at an incredible value. Three separate lanais provide many tranquil spaces for outdoor enjoyment.

Interior spaces include 4 flat screen TV's, cable and high speed Internet service with WIFI. All spaces include solid mahogany doors and trim with bronze hardware. The gourmet kitchen is finished with granite countertops, Wolf and Sub Zero appliances. Tempur-Pedic beds are featured in both large bedrooms.

The three bathrooms include travertine marble, cherry cabinets and Kohler fixtures. The interior features 2 zones of central air conditioning for your comfort. The main outdoor lanai includes a complete outdoor kitchen featuring a Lazyman BBQ. The upstairs suites offer a California King bed in the master, a Queen bed in the junior master suite and the third guest bedroom on the ground floor has 2 twin beds perfect for kids, or can be converted to a King for another couple. All bedrooms suites offer walk in showers. The laundry room is complete with full sized washer and dryer.

The Villages private recreation area is located a short walk away and features a newly updated heated pool and separate heated spa, exercise room and entertainment area with BBQ. Enjoy shopping and dining at Tommy Bahama’s and many galleries and merchants at the 'Shops at Mauna Lani'. Access to the Mauna Lani Spa and Mauna Lani Tennis and Athletic Center are available also for a daily or weekly rate including Spinning, Yoga, and Power Cut classes. Lap swimmers will like the 25 meter lap pool as well.

The Mauna Lani Resort is well known for its commitment to Hawaiian culture, historic preservation, and environmental conservation. A self guided walking tour allows guests to discover acres of historic park featuring the Holo Holo Kai petroglyph park and other archeological sites and the famous Kalahuipuaa fishponds. Enjoy the many paved walking/running paths throughout the resort including those along the 2 miles of shoreline.

The Kohala Coast boasts one of the best climates in the world. An average temperature in the 80’s throughout the year with low humidity and less than 8 inches of rainfall per year make this the perfect place for year round beach and golf activities.

Located 20 miles north of Kailua - Kona International Airport and a scenic 2 1/2 hour drive to the island's active volcano at Volcano National Park. 10 minute drive to Mauna Kea and Hapuna beaches. Week after Christmas stay
House was super clean, very well provisioned with cooking supplies, spices, beach supplies, snorkel gear. Easy walk to pool and 3-5 minute drive to Mauna Lani Beach Club, shorter drive to beach at Fairmont. Would stay again!

Extraordinarily peaceful, lovely place, with some considerations
The property is quiet, gorgeous, very well appointed, and the nearby stores and Tommy Bahama restaurant are super convenient. Kathleen, the property manager, was helpful and knowledgeable. However, note the following: the beach is not "close by" and that's a subjective description. The VRBO picture makes it look that way. It took us quite a while to find it; it's s 1.6 mile-car drive and you need the card key to get in. As previously noted in other comments, the owner locks down the wifi-remoted-controlled A/C at 76 and sets the times to run it. The outdoor BBQ started both times we used it with an upward blast which appears to have been reported below. Trying to watch regular TV channels was near impossible and you'll need your own acct/passwords to access streaming channels. Last but not least, I made the reservation 3 years ago and had to cancel due to COVID travel/lock-down restrictions. In my experience with the owner, he was not helpful or considerate in offering a full refund (4 friends, we all had to lock-down), and even discounted the partial credit he offered by 50% when my group was finally able to travel. Before booking, note that VRBO controls no aspect of refunds or recovery of disputed money if any unavoidable issue arises within the owner's cancellation policy..

Great spacious condo with amazing amenities
This was a very comfortable and spacious condo. The kitchen was extraordinarily well stocked. They also had all manner of beach supplies (chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear and floaties). The pool was lovely and a quick walk from the condo. We used the gym a couple of times which was also very nice and spacious. The beach club and beach were much enjoyed. If you want to explore nearby public beaches they are a short drive away. There is also a grocery store right next to the development - so convenient! We would definitely stay again. We are sorry for initially trying to air condition the outdoors - we did not find the 75 degree setting on the air conditioning to be an issue at all. There are a couple of fans if you appreciate more air movement at night.

We've been visiting the Big Island of Hawai'i for over 25 years, and fell in love with the Kohala Coast on our first trip. We recently purchased this exceptional property. When we're not on the Big Island, we live north of Seattle, Washington.

Why they chose this property

Mauna Lani Resort has a more laid back residential feel than Waikoloa Beach Resort. Villages' homes are larger, with higher quality construction and finishes than many other developments in the area. There are several great restaurants within walking distance, as well as swimming, snorkeling, diving, kayaking, golf and tennis. Our townhome is very well appointed and comfortable, with an airy, open layout.

What makes this property unique

Our townhome is within easy walking distance to the pool and fitness center, about a five minute walk to the Shops at Mauna Lani, and a fifteen minute walk to the beach and the Fairmont Orchid Hotel. There is a nice view of Mauna Kea from the master lanai, where on a clear day you can see the telescopes/observatories gleaming white.
