Within a comfortable walking distance to the GABBA and Southbank. Clean, comfortable, thoughtful amenities supplied in kitchen and bathrooms – and great value for money. Would definitely stay again next time we are in Brisbane.
Not accessible for the reasons outlined below
Where do I begin. Yes I did look at the advertisement pictures numerous times. Pictures can be deceiving! Your apartment is not wheelchair accessible at all!
The block of apartments has one wheelchair accessible toilet on the rooftop and one accessible toilet and shower downstairs. Which we were advised not to use between 9 to 5 because of the next door shops patrons. The lifts and the reception are wheelchair accessible. That is all!
Wheelchair accessible means able to access the space without limitations.
Judith was able to access the hallway and the dining room only!
The doors are not wide enough.
The bathroom - there is a lip as you try to get in the shower. The shower chair can’t roll over that an accessible shower has a flat floor like the one downstairs. In the picture it looks like there is a small ramp but it was a black towel on the floor and the other shower entrance doesn’t show the floor.
The shower even at its lowest is too high for most wheelchair people to reach.
The shelf in the bathroom is completely out of reach for any wheelchair person. The toilet is definitely not an accessible toilet.
The bedroom is way too small to call it accessible even pushing the bed against the wall. Carpet is not the floor covering of choice difficult to push but also the wheels of the chair have been going on all different surfaces picking up dirt so carpet becomes dirty quickly.
Lounge room mats are completely useless to wheelchair users they just get caught up in the wheels.
Judith didn’t even try to get in the kitchen. We were scared she would damage something! Had she gone in there she wouldn’t have been able to open any doors or draws.
The balcony is not accessible at all with the lip at the doorway.
We main reason we came to Queensland was to see Keith Urban. We extended our stay to catch up with friends at the apartment. Judith likes to participate in the tasks but mostly had to stay in the one spot.
Your apartment definitely put a negative slant on our stay in Queensland.
Moving forward I am going to contact somebody about false advertising of wheelchair access accomodation because there are other people advertising as well when there places are not wheelchair accessible either.
I do not doubt your good intentions but you have no idea about wheelchair disability.
I will not make a negative comment about your apartment but you have to stop advertising it as wheelchair accessible or I will.
