Better than the pictures show
The property has more charm and character than the pictures do justice. The house was perfect for two families to share, and was in walking distance of a great beach with sunset views. As well as, ton of restaurants, bars, and shops.
Perfect Maui location
This house was perfect for our family of 7. It's clean, updated, tastefully decorated, and has a convenient and spacious floor plan. It never felt crowded. The kitchen has modern appliances, including a large refrigerator, new pans and knives, and enough space for multiple "chefs". Wifi was always zippy. Ample bath and beach towels. The large laundry room has a full-size washer and dryer. The beds were very comfortable, with memory foam mattress toppers. I did get some complaints from the two kids who shared a sofa sleeper, but I don't think there's a sofa sleeper on the planet that's comfortable. The air conditioning was a life-saver as temperatures were in the 90s most days we were there.
We especially appreciated the outdoor space: balcony, patio with picnic table and grill, shower for washing off sand, and beautifully landscaped yard including fragrant plumeria trees and flowers like those shown in the photo. We enjoyed watching the birds and geckos in the yard while relaxing on the patio with a cup of coffee in the mornings. The owners graciously provided various beach toys: cooler, folding chairs, snorkeling fins, sand toys, boogie boards.
Definitely the best feature of this house is the location. Charley Young Beach is a short walk across the road, is beautiful (we witnessed several professional photo shoots), has plenty of shade, and is excellent for snorkeling (so many turtles!), swimming, boogie boarding, or just lounging in the water or on the sand. While S. Kihei Rd is busy, there is a pedestrian-activated warning light at the crosswalk that makes it a breeze to cross, and there are sidewalks on both sides of the road. A block north are Cove Park and Kalama Park which were always busy with surfers. We loved staying in Kihei (vs. other places we've stayed on Maui) because everything is so convenient, and much is even within walking distance of the house: parks, beaches, shopping, grocery stores, restaurants, bars. In addition to daily beach activities, we enjoyed exploring Kihei: happy hour at the South Shore Tiki Lounge, dinner at Maui Brewing Co., dessert at Maui Pie (3 times!), shooting pool at Life's a Beach; and other parts of Maui: hiking Haleakala, Iao Valley, and Waihee Ridge, Te Au Moana Luau in Wailea, strolling through Paia, Lahaina, and Makawao, learning about reef conservation, local marine life, and Hawaiian culture at the Maui Ocean Center. Mahalo for sharing your beautiful home!
Perfect Get Away in Kihei
This property is a gem. The home is spacious and beautifully decorated with modern decor and wonderfully comfortable beds. The owner makes sure the unit is stocked with everything you need including a box of chocolates for your arrival. It was immaculate and well furnished with cable TV and wifi. The location is great. Right at the start of Kamaole 1 Beach park with the entrance to Charley Young Beach directly across the street. The unit is just a short walk away from the shopping and retail areas at the cove and at Kamaole 2 Beach park. If you have a larger family and are looking for a great location at a reasonable price this is the perfect unit.

We had stayed at Hilton in kona with a great experience there. We flew to Maui and booked this house last minute. I was hesitant as we usually stay in 4/5 star hotels when we travel but we had Hawaiian friends joining us and needed more space. We were so impressed by the property manager, she was awesome! The house was impeccable with many details. We felt it was undervalued!!!! She even left us chocolates which the kids loved. It was a great experience with no doubt that i will stat here again... After Maui, we went to Oahu and stayed at the Aulani at a 1000.00 a night villa which not even a bottle of water was offered!!! Worse experience ever in a hotel... we wished we would go bwck to Maui and to this lovely house:-)
Thanks again for making our experience amazing:-)
GREAT LOCATION GREAT PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH WILL USE AGAIN ......
Great comfort, convenience, and a wonderful family beach!
Five of us, ranging in age from 3 to 75, were very happy and comfortable in this nearly new, spacious home! It's cheerfully decorated and thoughtfully stocked with linens and equipment for the beach, the kitchen, and toddlers. Sliders on the deck and patio let the tropical breezes in, and if S. Kihei Road gets too noisy, fans and window air conditioners make it easy to retreat. The owner/manager was readily available and worked hard to resolve a power problem. The perfect-for-families beach is half a block and a safe pedestrian crossing away. Waves are low, shore is clean and shady in spots, and there is swimming and snorkeling with turtles on the rocky point. When we were done with the beach, we had many sand-management options: outside shower, inside showers and tub and a large washer/dryer. Grocery stores, sunset views and fine dining are all only a short stroll away. We had a wonderful vacation and will make this our home away from home whenever we get to Maui!
Walking distance to Kihei cove park, and multiple water sport opportunities.
Kihei is Maui's #1 place to learn to surf and paddle board.
