Nice home in a quiet neighborhood.
This is a really nice basement apartment in a quiet residential neighborhood. It has been very nicely done with a lot of cozy touches. The way they have done the front entrance with big windowed doors makes you feel like you're not in a basement at all. Loved the cute bathroom! The use of space and set up in there was perfect and the shower was phenomenal! The bed was quite comfortable. Communication with the property owner was excellent!
Now, a few critiques that would take this to five stars. One thing you can't help but notice right away when you walk in is the smell. It's something beyond the basic musty basement smell. Not sure what it was, but it definitely hits you in the face when you first walk in. The front windows that provide so much nice light during the day could use some blinds or curtains for darkness and privacy at night. One thing that really bugged us was that the light bulbs they have throughout the apartment (probably for energy saving) are way too dim. My husband had some paperwork that he needed to work on at night and he could barely see it. The apartment had a Kuerig machine but no coffee or tea pods were provided. So I guess if you stay here, be prepared to bring your own.
We felt that the pros definitely outweigh the cons for this place, and the critiques are things that could be pretty easily fixed. Overall, it was a very nice experience, and we would recommend staying here!
The visit that was too short
We rented this flat to visit our daughter and her fiance. The visit was much too short and I was sad as I locked the door on this lovely flat this morning. The pictures on VRBO tell the real story. The comfy bed let us rest our tired bones after a hike in Boulder, long city walks and a bike ride in Littleton. Wonderful bathroom shower heads were to die for when cleaning up from our various outdoor activities. We did not have a car so walked to a FANTASTIC pizzeria just around he corner called Pantaleone's (use your Google Map app). Best. Crust. Ever. This place was on the Gordon Ramsey restaurant makeover show. We did not use the kitchen but it is top notch. We stocked the fridge with wine, beer, cheese and snacks that we munched on each evening as we watched a movie on the great leather sofa. The rock garden entry way is beautiful. If I owned this place, I would never be inside. The owner and management company were quick to reply to our questions about WiFi and where to put our trash and recyclables. Katherine checked in with us twice - she's a great hands-on owner. When we return for The Wedding, we'll try to book this place.
