About this property

A quiet retreat outside a small agricultural community Western Panamá. Cozy 2-br apt on a small, quiet working farm with a few head of cattle in verdant pastures, avocado orchard, bananas and plantains, a reforested area. Ideal for a family with a couple of kids or four adults (sofa-bed in living room in a pinch). Abundant pure water (hot and cold) from our own well, working fireplace. Full kitchen with all utensils, modern bathroom.

Relaxation

Great place to stay for some rest and relaxation. Perfect weather. No heat or air conditioning required. Friendly and helpfull locals and a beautiful place to spend some time. Everything you might need at stores no more than 5 minutes away. Lots of interesting things to do in the surrounding areas.

David was a wonderful host. His property was just beautiful. This is just what we needed. Clean air and beautiful mountain views. A lovely place to get away from it all.

Comfortable and relaxing home

Finca Altovista had just about everything I needed to relax. A big covered porch with comfortable furniture looking out over flower filled gardens, forests, and pastures. A homey living room with good lighting and spacious couches. A well-furnished kitchen with fresh eggs every day from the farm. A quiet bedroom with a comfortable mattress. David, the owner, was gracious and charming, as were the folk who worked on the farm. There was a great vegetable market a few minutes away, a choice of good restaurants, and plenty of adventure trips if we wanted them. Volcán and all of Chiriqui are breathtakingly beautiful.

Quite Retreat

Just what the doctor ordered. My self doctoring prescribed time at a place where I could reflex on my priorities in life. Very enjoyable. David was engaging when asked to be and unobtrusive when that was needed. The fact that he is a kind and caring person become very apparent and evident as the stay progressed. A wonderful change from the ordinary lodging being offered. Need I saw more!

Why they chose this property

Located in the most beautiful province of Panamá, we have spent more than 25 years developing our gardens, mature wooded area, green pastures and our small avocado orchard is developing quickly.

What makes this property unique

We are only 3 km from the center of Volcán, on a well-paved road, but surrounded by hills that makes our little retreat feel a thousand miles from nowhere. The only noise: our rooster wakes up early, and the dogs do chase squirrels.
