Wonderful Location and Holiday
In complete agreement with previous guests, this place is a very special location with amazing views and space for a big family to roam.
The property is full of charm and character and functions well, the bbq grill outside is incredible, cooked everything on there. Pool is fabulous, warm, clean not horrible chlorine and the salt really helped my young kids to learn to swim.
We loved doing yoga on the rooftop and also a great run/cycle path all the way to Garachico-a must visit for the amazing natural sea pools and quaint town with history and seaview restaurants.
The local Play San Marcos beach is small, but beautiful volcanic surrounds and it was having construction, so a little congested. Some lovely little restaurants down there and good to watch the sunset. We went to Armarca based upon good TA reviews-was terrible, stick to a drink there. Paella/Sangaria was good at Tasca La Chalana.
You really do need a car, unless you are very fit and good with hills, the beach is not walking distance for young children or elderly.
Owners are keen to make your stay as comfortable as possible and on hand to help. A really memorable holiday and place to have a 7th Birthday, all ages loved it.
Traditional Spanish getaway
Lovely villa! Owners welcoming and as others have said keep leaving bread and fruit most mornings. Villa looks very nice and rustic inside, the pool is clean and spacious. White wine made at the vineyard was really good. Local town of garachico was pretty and Puerto de la Cruz a bit more touristy, but still quite spanish compared to resorts in the South. Definitely need a car to stay here and if driving from the south airport stay on the TF373 and avoid the TF42, its so steep, windy and quite hazardous!!!
wonderful a great experience
We really loved this house. Everything was perfect, and the children loved the pool, and having space to run around. The bread, fruit and wine were a real surprise and bonus. We want to come back!
Old World Charm
A lovely property with superb hospitality and welcome. Pool is a super size and plenty of space too.
Beautiful property with tonnes of space
It was tricky to work out the layout form the photographs but on arrival at the property we were blown away! So much space for all of us to play, live, relax... We settled quickly into our two week holiday and experienced generosity and warmth from the owners. An almost inexhaustible supply of eggs and avocados were left for us along with bread, croissants and papayas. The house is large and traditional and the few things that perhaps need modernising do not take away from the comfort and charm of the house. The beds are large and everything is very clean; lots of wardrobe space. It is also lovely and cool. You have a large outdoor kitchen and eating area as well as a kitchen in the house. There are lots of different seating areas around the property. I must also mention the owner's wine supply, which you can drink and pay for in an honesty box; we loved the red wine! Best of all is the direct view of Mount Teide from your veranda in one direction and the sea in the other. Absolutely beautiful.
The surrounding area is lovely with so many good beaches and rock pools to explore. It is very rugged and much nicer than the South but that is reachable in an hour for any big attractions you want. Puerto de la Cruz is only 30 minutes away by car and has a great beach. The owner gave us lots of restaurant recommendations off the beaten track. The town of Icod de los vinos is a hidden treasure, with the 1000 year old tree "el drago" and has an excellent shopping town too.
You must have a car here - both for getting here and around but the driving is pretty easy - stick to main routes though, avoiding small mountainside towns, unless you have a 4x4 and nerves of steel! Google maps was pretty faultless anywhere we went. We spent a day each at Loro Parque and Siam Parque - both excellent for the children (ours are 9 and 6).
The town of Garachico very nearby is lovely. The tiny beach at San Marcos is good if you don't want to go far and we ate in Amarco restaurant several times.
We would definitely stay again if we were coming back to Tenereife and the house could accommodate more people than we were this time, which was 2 grandparents and our family of 4. Thank you Eduardo and Eugenio.
Casa Bodega Tinoca lies in the small fishing village of San Marcos, Icod de los Vinos below, about 15 km away from Puerto de la Cruz. The fine sand beach of Playa San Marcos is located in a sheltered bay and is very popular because children can easily swim here. There is a small promenade with restaurants and bars. San Marcos has a small fishing port, where fishermen offer their fresh fish. In the area of ??Icod de los Vinos, there are many local restaurants, the old town of Icod de los Vinos invites you to stroll through the city's sights. In the environment you are surrounded by banana plantations and vineyards. 15 minutes drive away a brand new golf course is located right on the sea.
