Best Experience I Have Ever Had!
I can’t begin to express how blessed I am to have found and stayed at Villa Kekova, and in one of the most beautiful, magnificent and mystical places in the world....Kas!
The Villa exceeded my expectations. I literally felt right at home. It is very spacious and comfortable, and has all the amenities one can ask for and more! It’s location has the best view of the entire Mediterranean coast. I traveled the entire coast for two weeks, and confirmed that there is no better place in the Mediterranean than Kaş and Villa Kekova.
Also, the house manager was just a phone call away. One late evening I needed a driver to drive me 5 minutes down the mountain to the center square, and within a few moments a driver arrived at the door.
I couldn’t be more happy here! I didn’t want to leave. I left my heart there. And, I’ll be back!
Beautiful, very well equipped villa
We had a fantastic time in this villa and in Kas generally. The house is beautiful and thoughtfully equipped- the cold water dispenser being a particular pluspoint in the intense heat. The pool was great and well used by our children. The kitchen had everything we needed. One thing that's important to be aware of is that the house is on a hillside with incredibly steep roads both up and down; so without a car this can be an issue whether for walking to the nearest shops up to Cerciler or down to the town centre or the nearest beach. The walk up is fairly brutal in summer temperatures. It took us a day to work out the best way by walking down and catching a very handy dolmus bus back to Cerciler. Though we hired a car for some days , we didn't miss one on the others.
The only thing I personally struggled with in the house was that the mattresses are very firm. My old bones took quite a number of nights to adjust.
Another thing to be aware of is that when you start to feed a cat ( a beautiful grey one turned up on the first morning feeling very at home and demanding food) then you'll soon be feeding about 6-8 cats as word seems to get round.
The local beach, Büyük Cakül, does not look impressive at first, but has super fresh and clear water and some of the best sea life. It also has a lovely atmosphere.
We can really recommend doing one of the all day boat trips. (We went twice on the Simena boat, which was excellent: spotless, food better than many restaurants and extremely good value) Overall a thoroughly enjoyable holiday.
Thank you very much for your nice review.
When we are back in Kas in September we will look at the matrasses issue. But which old bones are you talking about ? :)
In total we were more than happy to have you as our guests and sincerely hope, you will come back one day.
Fabulous villa overlooking the bay of Kaş
We have greatly enjoyed Kaş, the comfortable house and the heartwarming welcome by Axel and Jeanne, the homeowners. Villa Kekova is built according to their wishes. They opted for German solidity with high quality materials and Turkish traditional details. All wooden ornaments, such as the louvre doors and windows and the paneling, are handmade. This also applies to the sun beds. It all adds up to the special atmosphere of this new villa (built in 2012). Outside you have a spacious terrace with a beautiful view over the bay of Kaş. In the swimming pool you cool off nicely, there is an outdoor shower and together with the sun beds you do not have to leave the house. Although, maybe to get groceries. At the weekly market on Friday you can buy the most fantastic fruit and fresh vegetables. The atmosphere on the market is as pleasant as everywhere in Kaş. Old Turkish ladies sell fruit and vegetables from their own garden. What if you do not feel like cooking? Eating out in Turkey is a great pastime and compared to the Netherlands it almost costs nothing. Our big favorites were the restaurants at Büyükçakıl Plajı, such as Ada Beach and Mermaid Beach. If you eat there, a sunbed and parasol are included. From this bay I walked a short distance of the Lycian Way (in Turkish: Likya Yolu, follow the signposts and the red-white signs). I walked to the next bay where Nuri's Beach Bungalow is located. The one-way walk took me about 75 minutes. There are no motorways to Nuri’s Beach: you have the choice to hike back or take a boat to Kaş.
Our hosts Axel and Jeanne made our stay in Kaş really special. They were helpful, very generous and reassuring. When we indicated that we wanted to go horseback riding, they sought a riding school for us, took us there (the riding school is in Çukurbağ) and we made a nice trip on horseback of 2 hours. We also made a private boat trip with our own captain in the bay of Kekova. The captain's wife prepared an extensive, delicious lunch for us. Jeanne speaks Turkish which creates a nice contact with the locals. Altogether we had an unforgettable week in beautiful villa Kekova in, what we consider, the nicest part of Turkey.
Thank you very much, Yvonne.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay and you are always welcome to come back.

You just have to like Kas. Kas and its surroundings. The Lycian coast is wildly rugged here, with islands and peninsulas, bays and hidden beaches. Picturesquely hidden in a quiet bay of the Lycian coast lies the town called Habesos by the Lycians, and later by the Greeks Antiphellos. A small former fishing town, spared from mass tourism, with a very original atmosphere. The historic old town with its winding romantic streets and the Greek houses, with the typical wooden balconies and bay windows is a listed building. Turkish as well as international restaurants can be found here as well as colorful shops with fragrant spices, fresh fruit and a wide range of handicrafts as well as goods of all kinds. You are on historic ground right on the Lycian Trail. Everywhere you will encounter the evidence of antiquity, such as a variety of sarcophagi and rock tombs u. the well-preserved amphitheater.
