About this property

Switch off in a historic setting near San Gimignano

The property is located 2.7 km from the main paved road in the forest. The historic cities such as Florence, Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano and Volterra can, however, be reached in no more than an hour's drive. The sea is 45 km from the house.
In San Vettore, the clocks tick a little slower than elsewhere and are clearly audible, because apart from the twittering of the birds and the wind in the branches of the pine trees, there is hardly any noise here. On a hill above the surrounding vineyards, far from the scooter concert, you will find the perfect haven in our old monastery. The massive walls protect you from everyday digital life. No whatsapp status needs to be updated here and Instagram can wait. And although you do not have to do without the modern amenities of diligently warm water and electrical power with us, your stay with us will change your view of everyday life at home. It's like you can feel the eventful history of this place.

The largest room in the apartment is shared by two comfortable beds and a cozy seating area, which, grouped on a large Persian carpet, gives the otherwise rustic room a homely atmosphere. The adjacent kitchen offers seating for 4 people and everything that belongs in a Tuscan kitchen. If you should not find something, we are only a few meters away. The highlight of the simply furnished bathroom with toilet is the very spacious shower. The secretary in the entrance area is just one of the numerous antiques that underline the special atmosphere of the rooms. Your apartment can also be heated for a small surcharge.

In addition to this and our own apartment, only two other accommodations are built around the fairytale courtyard of the monastery - the second apartment and the tower. Even if we are fully booked, everyone will find their own personal favorite corner on the 7,000 m² property. Be it at the pond, behind the tall agaves, in a hammock between pine trees or in a deck chair under the holm oak with a view over olive groves to the Apennines! Perhaps you are also enthusiastic about our archaeological finds. Right next to the monastery, we unearthed the foundations of a Romanesque church in 1075 and an oil or grain mill.

The property is located directly on the historic Franconia Street, Via Francigena, which brought San Giminiano its prosperity just ten kilometers away. In the middle of Tuscany, San Vettore is an ideal starting point for day trips to the nearby cultural cities of the region: for example Volterra (20 km), Siena (35 km) and of course Florence (45 km). The Chianti area with the wine towns of Greve, Radda and Castellina is also around 45 kilometers away, and if you want to go to the sea, you are there within an hour. Although the distances are not long, you should take your time because they will stop more often. Beautiful properties, inviting wineries or postcard views await you behind almost every curve. Typical Tuscan restaurants with excellent food at fair prices can be reached within 10 minutes. We'll tell you our favorite addresses. From 8 p.m. you can eat there with the locals.

We would like to share our fascination for this unique place with you and give you an unforgettable time with us in San Vettore. If you have any questions, please write us a message.
We look forward to you !

The tourist tax is only charged by the municipality for up to six days of stay per person.

Entspannung in wunderbarer Atmosphäre
