About this property

Hollywood Hills Luxury Sanctuary

Hollywood Hills sanctuary available for minimum 3 nights, fully serviced rental. This beautiful and entirely private compound has been recently refurbished to the highest quality with no expense spared. In the shadow of the Hollywood Sign the house nestles high above the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. Ensconced within an Urban Wilderness. The house is 50 meters from the entrance to Griffith Park and a 30 min hike up to the sign.
The house was built in 1953 and has a very entertainment heavy history of previous owners.
Most notably John Fusciante of the Chili Peppers.
Approached via an automatic gate leading onto a 6 car driveway. There is also a pedestrian gate. Both activated by the two iPads wall mounted within the house. These also control the lights, the pool, the security alarm and Sonos throughout the home.
Entered via a lovely court yard with hanging chair, the front door opens onto a large sitting room with vaulted ceiling. This beautiful and spacious room is fully furnished from Jonathan Adler with a 72” flat screen TV with surround sound and a working wood and gas fireplace.
The sideboards are filled with games and other useful items. There is also a bar area.
The kitchen is a fully stocked and beautifully appointed, with views across the dining area to the pool. Double door fridge freezer with water and ice, Wolf range, fitted dishwasher and everything else you would expect to find in a quality house like this.
Beyond the kitchen is a large dining area overlooking the pool. Table seats 8-10 people comfortably. There is also a large day bead and formal chair/library area again with pool and hills view. Off this area, the laundry room can be found, complete with washer and separate dryer, ironing facilities, vacuum cleaner, leaf blower etc and whatever else one might expect.
There are two double guest bedrooms both with their own private terrace with outdoor furniture, with canyon views overlooking the vineyards and up towards the Hollywood Sign.
Perfect for sundowners or a morning coffee. One has a ladder up to a two bed kids platform room, which is well stocked with toys and games. There are two fitted twin beds and two small desks with chairs, stocked with arts and crafts and toys.
Between the guest bedrooms is a brand new luxury marble wet room with more breathtaking views across the hills. Both bathrooms come with toiletries and an abundance of new white towels. This unique room gets bathed in sunset light and is a delight to shower in,with such beautiful views.
The large Master suite, is bathed in light from a wall of windows overlooking the pool and downtown views. It is housed in its own wing of the house and comes with a great study area (complete with printer and various other useful items), an en-suite bathroom and dressing area. The suite windows and doors open to its own terrace area and directly onto the pool.
The pool was recently completely refurbished and is operated by an Ozone system, giving it very soft water and hardly any chlorine or salt present, so it’s great for your skin. The pool is finished in dark pigment and green tiles, which reflect the beautiful countryside around it.
Around the house there are a wealth of areas to sit and enjoy the enormous views and wildlife of the park. There is a large lower deck set out as an outdoor living room, with sensational 180 degree views of the Griffith Park Observatory and the high rises of DTLA.
The entire property is lit beautifully at night and festoon lights swag over the pool and outdoor dining area.
Next to the pool is a gas and lava rock corten fire pit, with sofa’s and poufs’ around it. To the side of the house off the sitting room can be found the outdoor dining area with a table for 8-10 people. Also a brand new Webber outdoor kitchen and a delightful seating area underneath the pergola with climbers and flowers all around. Finally, an outdoor bar can be found with 4 stools ready to go, ideal for relaxing with a few friends for a drink while the BBQ fires up.
There is a path that leads back around to the front of the house and joins the two terraces outside of the two guest bedrooms with 180 degree views of the hills and Hollywood Sign.
This is the perfect spot to watch another incredible LA sunset in this spacious, indoor outdoor flowing, designers dream of a Hollywood Hills Sanctuary.
The house is centrally air-conditioned and heated with WiFi and Sonos speakers throughout the entire property inside and out.
Parties and commercial shoots etc permitted for an extra fee and ONLY with prior property managers approval.

Location Location Location!
Wow, if you like to hike, this is the place! It is so close to the entrance to the trails to the Hollywood sign and Griffith Park Observatory. And the views from the decks outside are amazing. There are so many seating areas. And parking is a breeze, unlike so many of the homes in the Hollywood Hills. Property manager was responsive, though not proactive. Definitely glad we chose to splurge on this property for our special occasion.

Great house / location
The views and location (close to hiking, hills) are fantastic. The outdoor space is great too. House itself is nice (could use a few minor repairs but nothing that ultimately matters)

Great spot
Great and quiet spot to stay. Gotta keep the noise down as there are neighbors close by. Would definitely stay here again.

Gorgeous Location; Perfect for Hosting
We are LA ex-pats with many family and friends from the area that we wanted to reunite with after a long Covid winter. This house proved truly perfect for hosting our friends and family in small groups for meals, overnights and pool time. The positives were many: 1) Location: I enjoyed many hikes in the Hollywood Hills--both solo and with family. The amount and diversity of trails was an expected bonus, as I didn't realize the access point would be so close. We got beautiful pictures of wildlife--deer, coyote, bunnies, lizards, hawks and hummingbirds abound. 2) Exterior House Features: The pool was awesome though it needed heating even on a 90+ degree day (so plan on that expense). The city views from the patio are expansive and ever-changing. The owner has provided yoga mats and hand weights which was a lovely and welcome surprise! The patio furniture was comfy for long sits. We used the fire pit many times for s'mores. It worked perfectly and was a great evening feature along with the cool exterior lighting. 3) Interior Decor and Functionality: The interior decor was certainly selected with a designer's eye and very attractive. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were adequate. The kitchen is small and would not serve well for major cooking projects, but the appliances were new and nice. The loft space turned out to be a real favorite for my youngest daughter to hide out and read. A few suggestions for improvement: 1) Decor: This is a gentle warning that some of the decor is rated PG-13, in my midwesterner opinion, and ought to be changed out for rental purposes, e.g., posters that say "damn" and "nasty" in the children's bedroom. My tween girls were made a bit uncomfortable when they first encountered some of it. 2) Owner Possessions: The owner should remove a bit more of their personal items. In particular, the upstairs loft had a lot of items that belonged to a child, and my kids felt a little uncomfortable "invading her space". 3) Pictures Update: Some of the exterior spaces did not match up with the pictures in the listing. Either change the pics or fix the spaces. 4) Pre-Arrival Prep: When we arrived on a 90+ degree day, the AC was off and the house was an inferno. This could have been easily avoided by having the property manager remotely turn the AC to, say, 78 before our arrival. Overall--An excellent rental, highly recommended, but with a few "to do's" r to bring it up to 5 stars.
