Eddy was great!
Eddy the property owner was great! He was easy to communicate with and answered texts promptly. There a small leak in the bathroom and he had maintenance come out the next morning to fix it. The neighborhood is not the nicest but it’s not the worst either. All the people we saw in our building were friendly. Very close walk to Holy Donut on Park and Deering oaks park too! The entry to the house is kinda odd - you enter the front door and then enter the apartment door right into the only bedroom. We did figure out the back door entry so we didn’t have to wake up our sleeping child in the front room. Tidy overall, but the floors needed a deep clean! Looking under the bed/ couch was a mistake … super dirty. The bath tub needed major TLC. My husband bought the tub cleaner and proceeded to scrub to get it clean enough for our daughter to take a bath in. We found a lot was missing that one would need like tissues, cleaning supplies, trash bags. Little things that would have made the stay nicer (olive oil, basic kitchen seasoning spices, additional pillows, blankets, space heater, spare foot mat in shower, more bath towels). The heater worked really well in the unit and there is a very scary laundry “room” more like a half height room under the house? It was odd- And dirty. But the washer and dryer worked well thankfully. Parking is a bit of a hassle but we never had issues. Eddy did offer a discounted off street parking spot but we found we didn’t need to rent it. All in all, I would not stay here with a child again but I would if it was just me and my spouse.

Rental Property Looks better online
We were excited to come visit Portland for our first time. When we initially searched for properties, the website showed us that the general location of the property was closer to the downtown center than provided. The biggest turn down was difficulty in communicating with the property manager as well as the cleanliness in the apartment. It is definitely worn-down, and the tub has a curtain around it that made you uncomfortable when it touched you. I felt uncomfortable showering there. Location was ok, but again, it wasn't where it was initially showed online. The pictures online also make it look nicer than it is.

Just Okay
I don’t typically review stuff, but thought that this property warranted an honest review. I am looking into investing in a rental property myself and this property was an example of many things not to do to make guests happy. The host was very nice and communicated just fine. The description of the property was very minimal. The pictures made the property look a lot nicer than it really was. The place is a very old beat up apartment building. The flooring in the bathroom was laminate and it was broken and peeling up. The place had multiple floating shelf’s hung on the walls. Each one was generic and loose like it was ready to fall of the wall. The front entrance leads right into the main bedroom, which is very awkward. Every other apartment exit walks past our door. Our front door had decent size opening between the door and door frame. So privacy was awkward. The bathroom had a claw foot bath tub with a shower curtain wrapped around to make a shower. There were only 2 towels left for our entire 4 day stay and they were old used towels with threads popping of them. They were very worn. There wasn’t any wash clothes at all or body wash. The basement door was next to the bathroom and it smelled of mildew through the bathroom. The pics of the listing show snacks and coffee, but none were found in this rental. The apartment was also very noisy. Literally one block over was a histoplasmosis with a helipad that had a helicopter taking off and landing multiple times per day. It was very loud! You could also here everything from the other renters. The curtains didn’t block out any light and we’re almost see through. The neighbor was also a little sketchy. This is a rental that was thrown together just to make money with as little effort or thought put into as possible. I would only recommend this rental for a guys weekend getaway where you only care about a place to sleep. We almost booked a hotel right after checking into this place. That’s how turned off we were by it. It was very beat up and old.

Great location!
This property had everything we needed for our stay in Portland and was conveniently located! We also had no problems with parking on the streets throughout our stay. Eddy was also very quick to respond if we needed anything throughout our stay. Thank you for a great place to stay during our trip!

Quiet location and walkable
The host is considerate and quick to reply to messages. Other reviews mentioned the parking situation, but all of Portland has weird parking restrictions which the host has no control over, plus he offered affordable off-street parking. We didn’t need to take him up on it, but were glad for the offer. Walkable to Holy Donut, Bayside American Cafe, and a host of other places. Apartment was clean and cozy. The bathroom shower/tub is a little odd as there’s nowhere for shampoo and soap when the curtains are closed aside from the floor of the tub. Might be worth adding a shower caddy that hangs from the shower head pipe? Overall, a good stay in a quiet neighborhood.
