A wonderful house with the best views ever. Quiet, well equipped. Superb! So many superlatives. We loved the place and the town.
Sadly we had some really mad and wild weather, but useful to show up some weaknesses in the property. The terrace is wonderful, but when it is wet, hopeless, as there is no proper roof covering. Also bits fall down making the table filthy, we must have cleaned it hundreds of times!
It is a real shame, as unless the weather is truly grim, we love sitting outside.
The pool was very beautiful, and kept clean by Andrew, who had quite a job with all the wind and rain!
It was disappointingly shallow for most of its lengrh though. Again not quite perfect. Also it would be a good idea to have an all weather storage box down there, to keep the sunbed cushions in. A bit of a bore lugging them up and down the slope all the time! The shower by the pool was awful! Not fit for purpose, especially when the wind blew and the water went horizontal!
A bit shocked at the polycotton bedding, these days most places have pure white cotton sheets.
Some days there was a very powerful smell from the very pretty goats down the hill! We like goats, but it did get a bit much sometimes!
It seems like I am moaning about a lot of things, but it was such a special place that we really loved, that I wanted it to be even better, which it so easily could be!
Sue was reall y helpful and I hope we left it all in order for her.
It was a trulymagic place, but was let down by some very simple things which could be done reasonably quickly without huge expense, if the owner wanted to!
As the owner I am very pleased you liked so much about the house and its location. I'm very sorry you had such bad weather in a month when it is usually really beautiful, as it is right now. I always appreciate constructive criticism and some of the points you have made are already being acted upon. A box by the pool for the lounger mattresses is a very good idea. The pool shower is now working well, but that's because there's much less wind. Your other points are certainly taken on board and a schedule of works to be done over the winter period will no doubt address them all. Thanks for taking the trouble to give us your detailed feedback
We had the most amazing week at the villa - Sue and Andrew were very helpful. The views really are stunning and the villa was very well equipped with everything we could possibly need. We loved the peace and quiet. The track is fine once you have done it a couple of times.
We are delighted you had a lovely holiday at the villa and enjoyed the peace and beauty of the area.
Thank you so much for leaving the villa in a good state upon your departure - this is very much appreciated.
With very best wishes from myself and Andrew.
Breathtaking views and a perfect place to escape.
A beautiful stay with friends in a gorgeous property in a stunning location. The house, garden and pool area are wonderful and the hosts were incredibly helpful and friendly. A real treat.
A beautiful villa with stunning views
We had a really fantastic week at the villa which is perfect for a mixed family group such as ours. The pool is ideal for all ages and the view of the lake and mountains is breathtaking. The villa is extremely well furnished and there is everything you could possibly need for cooking all of which is of great quality. Sue and Andrew couldn’t have been more helpful and met us to show us how to get to the villa (which is down a pretty long road and to be honest a rather rough track which we did get used to and on the positive side did mean we had complete privacy!). They showed us around and were available if there were any queries. Thank you both for being so helpful and making our holiday so stress free. We all voted this our favourite family holiday villa.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We are both delighted your whole family voted this your favourite family villa. The track is rough but is only about half a kilometre in length. The rest of the "track" from the main road is tarmacked. However, despite this, as you say - it is only a matter of getting used to it. Once again, thank you for your review - it means a lot to us that people really enjoy a comfortable and relaxing stay at the villa. With the very best of wishes - Sue and Andrew
The Villa itself is incredible , with everything you could wish for provided.
The views from the property are amazing.
The track from the road is absolutely fine for the first 2km but the last 750m would be tricky in a normal car and a 4x4 would be best. It gets easier after your first trip along it , but it’s not for inexperienced drivers and not recommended in the dark.
Overall it’s a wonderful place to spend a relaxing week or two.
Beautiful villa, amazing views, peaceful
The villa is an architectural beauty and books at the property tell you the interesting story of its creation. The villa is well equipped and the pool is large and lovely. The gardens are quite stunning and very large. Sue and Andrew are very friendly and easily available if needed. The pictures can't do justice to the views of the lake and mountains which are unbeatable. The villa is completely peaceful-nature is the only sound really and the stars at night are clear and bright. There are four double bedrooms and the arrangement (top floor, lower floor with living space in-between) would mean that 2 families could be together and still have space for themselves. It also worked fine for us as a 2 though. The track to the villa is easy really, slightly bumpy in one or two places but it's completely fine in a standard car. Most of the road to the villa is paved anyway, only the last 1/5 or so is unpaved-not an issue we found. The villa is well placed for day trips-Granada is 45 minutes away (ask your sat nav to go to the Puerta Real Parking Garage-very close to the sights but hardly any 'city' driving involved). Almunecar by the sea is great and Almeria isn't all that far. The real interest in the area is easy access to the Alpujarras villages and the stunning mountain landscape. Don't forget Lanjaron itself-a lovely little town. Excellent villa!
Thank you - what a fantastic and informative review! Terry (the owner) and Andrew and I are delighted that you really appreciated the villa, gardens and pool and that you enjoyed the local sights and amenities. There are certainly some beautiful places to visit in the local area as well as in Granada city itself. Thank you again. Sue - House Manager
