Its rural location, not far from the sea and the City of Varna, has everything to offer to the holiday-makers who wish to stay off the beaten track of traditional seaside areas, and allows for genuine peace and quiet. Away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded tourist resorts, yet in close proximity to the beaches along the Varna coast, it is ideal for families with young children, country and nature lovers of all ages. It is just an 18 min drive north from both Varna International Airport and the motorway to Sofia, 20 min from the City of Varna, and 25 min from the resorts of Golden Sands and Albena, 12 min from the nearest beach.

Lovely cottage away from hustle and bustle

We had a great time at the cottage and the private swimming pool was super to have all to ourselves. The property itself is well-equipped and it wasn’t overly hot as there are shutters which keeps the sun out on hot days. The location is in a beautiful spot upon a hill, but it is quite far from everything, so a car is a must. We enjoyed forest walks as well. Our hosts were very helpful and responsive and sorted out any problems we had swiftly. I also enjoyed the yoga classes offered.

Bulgaria Summer Holiday

We had a really pleasant weeks stay. Martin and Svedana are very accommodating hosts and communicated readily prior to our stay and during. Whilst their property is only next door they maintain a discreet distance. The children really enjoyed the pool and the garden. The house is simply furnished but comfortable. A car is essential if staying in this location as it is rural, therefore if you want to walk into a resort in the evening for food and drinks this is not the location. The bathrooms are a little dated and would benefit from a spruce up. Svedana is a talented yoga instructor and as a family we had a yoga class which was pitched perfectly for us as yoga beginners. Thank you!

Everything was perfect

La maison est juste parfaite : nichée au milieu d'un beau jardin avec des arbres fruitiers, bien agencée et équipée, avec une superbe piscine. Elle est aussi très bien située : tout en étant proche des plages et sites d'intérêt, elle est un peu en retrait et permet de respirer un air pur et un peu plus frais. Cerise sur le gâteau, et non des moindres : l'excellent cours de Yoga de l'hôte Svetlana, professeure certifiée ! Nous recommandons à 150%!

Beautiful location

We had a lovely and relaxing 2 weeks at Lavender cottage in August 2022. The area is beautiful, 20 minutes outside of Varna, up in the hills, and a good central location for trips to Varna and further afield. The house overlooks a forest and the swimming pool is stunning. The house has everything you need and the owners are very accommodating and helpful. Highly recommend and would happily return!

Our stay at Lavender cottage

We had a good time in the beautiful cottage in Oreshak near Varna.. It is very quiet place where we enjoyed comfort and nature. We spend a lot of our time outside on the terrace and in the garden. The pool is a wonderful asset of the house. Just like the abundance of plum trees. There are enough rooms to accommodate 2 families. The owners who live next door, were really friendly and helpful. The house is at some distance to supermarkets but with a car it is all doable. Bathrooms could use some upkeep. All in all, we had a wonderful and luxurious stay.

We are a mixed British/Bulgarian family who have lived in Oreshak since 2001 where we have built this summer home to let, close to our own house. We believe in offering the visitor an unadulterated experience of a genuine Bulgarian village, enhanced by a location with beautiful views, while striving to provide privacy and comfort.

Why they chose this property

We bought the land and built Lavender cottage in 2004 close to our home. We love our location at the edge of the village for the open views and tranquility it provides. It feels remote, yet is only 16 km away from the choice of facilities and urban life Varna has to offer as a city, and the numerous resorts along the regional Black Sea coast.

What makes this property unique

The chance to stay away from the crowds, enjoy the swimming pool, BBQ and full self-catering facilities, together with a private resting and eating area outside the house. Enjoy the views to the forested valley below the house.
