About this property

Our comfortable detached cottage is perfect for a relaxing, countryside holiday in summer or winter. We have an outdoor pool for the summer and central heating & a wood burner for the winter months. We are in a quiet rural location with excellent views over open country. The house is sited within a 3.5 acre plot with over 1 acre dedicated to the gite. Whilst we are 5 minutes drive from the local shops we are just a few minutes from the main highways with easy access to Laval and Le Mans which are just half an hour away. There are many excellent local restaurants, Debra and David will be happy to give you directions to these and all the local attractions upon your arrival. The garden, pool, children's play area, summer house, patio and BBQ are for the exclusive use of our guests. If booking for Christmas a free bottle of champagne is included in your welcome pack.

A haven with great hosts

Debra and David were great hosts, from the communications prior to our arrival to the meet and greet when they showed us everything we needed to know before leaving us to enjoy our lovely corner of France. Our younger boys loved the play-park equipment and our older son loved the 'office chair' which was his area when they werent all in the splash pool. enjoyed some great days out to Les Mans 24hour musee and the local caves. Thank you. Highly Recommend!

Debra and David Worboys and their two Westies (Lilly and Bela) are happy to welcome you to their home - La Bonne Marie.

David is officially retired - although he says he has never worked so hard and I (Debra) run the gite and look after several other properties for friends in the area.

We & the dogs love the outside life - which is just as well as the garden is large!!

Life here is good, we love it.

Why they chose this property

We bought our house for many reasons but I guess the most important was the location. It is just 4.5 hours drive from Calais, 2.5 hours from Caen and has airports at Dinard, Rennes and Tours.

Whilst the house is in a quiet rural location we have easy access to local towns and are approximately half an hour from 2 major cities - Laval and Le Mans.

There is just so much to see and do around here - visitors that come for 1 week wish they had booked for 2.

What makes this property unique

We have been told by many of our guests that the photographs we have on the web site just can not do the place justice. They are impressed with the amount of space that is dedicated to the gite - the very private pool, patio area, BBQ, summer house, kids play area etc.

We have tried hard to make this a home from home and from the amount of return visitors we get we seem to have things about right. However we are always open to suggestions and improvements.
