About this property

Dream Log Cabin, Yet Close to Everything! Animals Welcome!!!

A Log Home: A Unique Recreation Rental Opportunity, Available Year Round in the Stowe area of Vermont.

A cute, cozy dream tucked away in the woods of Vermont. Completely private and yet close to everything. Only minutes outside of Stowe. This Log Home is a great place to share with friends and family in a beautiful secluded setting. Indoors you can feel the warmth, charm, and uniqueness of Vermont.

The two bedrooms are cozy and make you feel right at home. There is also a loft that can sleep two more on a futon. One bathroom has a sunken bathtub that is big enough for two. So enjoy a long soak in the tub and relax! After a beautiful day outdoors you can also warm up snuggling in front of a fire at the woodstove.

The snowmobile trail starts right out the back door and for the cross country skiers, we have the Catamount trail right out the front door which runs down to Stowe and up towards Craftsbury for miles on end. But every season has its charm and we will have a list of beautiful sites ready for you, which sometimes are only known to locals.

We also welcome your pets and the backyard is fully fenced in for your four legged family members.

If you see this one already rented for the time you desire, we can offer you another cabin just as cute!!!

We will receive you with a warm home and heart!

Amazing experience

It was better than expected. The best part was how pet friendly it was for our dogs. The cabin was absolutely beautiful. And the drive was not far from the things we did. Overall our stay was great and it definitely is a place we will stay at again.

Beautiful eclectic cabin in the woods. Just under 20 mins to the skiing and 7-8 minutes to the town. The internet was a bit spotty but didn’t really effect us. Perfect for dogs and loved the little touches in the cabin. Ours had a birch tree going thru it!

Quiet cabin in the woods

Nestled between Stowe and Morrisville is a delightful collection of owner built rustic cabins. Listen to the frogs and birds and meet the fox. Quirky but delightful. We could have hoped for screened windows but would definitively stay at this delightful property again. Our pooch loved lying on the front porch and soaking up the natural surroundings. The host/owner is delightful and very helpful with questions.

A Peaceful Paradise

This property and it's owner are truly a great find. The cabin was extremely comfortable and well-stocked. The location was perfect---set in the woods, very private, yet quite accessible to Stowe and Morrisville. We cross-country skied from the door, our dogs frolicked in deep snow, our boys had epic snowball battles when we weren't downhill skiing at Stowe or Smugglers Notch. The owner was very welcoming, friendly, accomodating and knowledgeable of the local area. Claudia, you're the best!

Cozy, comfy & caring hosts

We came to visit north Vermont and ski at Stowe. The cabin is a cozy, comfy oasis to come "home" to after busy, cold days. We had a major snowfall that caused a tree to block the drive, a power outage and a super cold day. Claudia and her husband took such great care to connect with us, handle issues and ensure our safety and stay. They made it all feel like we were truly in a winter wonderland - so reassuring for us southerners and our 2 pups .

Quaint cabin in the woods

Rustic cabin has charm and loads of potential, but could use a little TLC. Was not quite as clean as we would have liked, and there were several light bulbs out (kitchen, two in the bedroom, porch). Great fenced in yard for the dogs, but could have used a little weed whacking.

Guestbook Comment

All of us (two women and three dogs) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Claudia's charming and unique cabin. It was comfortable and cozy, yet offered us plenty of space to stretch out inside and out. We loved the fact that we were off the beaten path but close to town and the dogs loved the fact that they could explore off leash without worrying about busy roads or annoying nearby neighbors with their rollicking behavior. Claudia was a wonderful hostess and anticipated what we needed even before we did! We can't wait to return. Rosemary, Matrix (the dog) and their pals. Alexandria, VA

Awesome Place

This is a great place to stay. It’s secluded, quiet and has a very authentic feel…in my opinion, that kind of vibe is much better than a traditional hotel. We also brought our cats and they loved it as well. The windows are all really long and close to the floor, so they were running around looking out of all of them. Would definitely recommend, especially if you have pets!

Cozy and bright log cabin in the woods

My family and I stayed at Claudia’s Birchtree cabin for a snowboarding trip. We loved the location in the woods and the privacy it offered, yet we were conveniently close to the towns of Stowe and Morrisville and Stowe mountain. The cabin was cozy and comfortable with plenty of windows to bring in natural light. We particularly loved looking out at the falling snow through the many trees surrounding the cabin. Our dog loved taking daily walks exploring the natural areas of the property. Claudia was a lovely host. Positive vibes all around. We would definitely stay again!

Rustic Cabin

The cabin sits on a beautiful piece of property. The location is perfect for exploring the area with quick access to the main road. The restaurant that Claudia suggested was perfect for my wife’s birthday. We had a wonderful relaxing stay.

Amazing Stay Definitely Recommend

The only downside to our stay was that it was only 2 nights...I wish we could've stayed longer!! Claudia was an amazing host and her lovely cabin was the perfect getaway for my husband and I and our 3 large dogs. Not only was the cabin dog friendly, but Claudia went above and beyond to make sure that we and the pups would feel at home. We can't wait for our next stay! The oversized soaking tub was also a huge bonus! I loved soaking in the tub with a glass of wine after a long hike. It was the perfect end to an incredible day!

Quiet & relaxing

Our stay was wonderful. The location was close to everything we wanted to do (British Invasion, hiking, eating, ....). The cabin was clean, cool on a hot day and relaxing. And so private! Check in was seamless. This truly is a place that welcomes dogs. There were bowls and a fenced in area for our dog. We would love to return, maybe this winter. Thank you!!

Excellent!

Everything about this property was excellent! We did not have a single word of reproach. But what struck us the most was an unbelievable hospitality of Claudia (the hostess)! She was always immediately available with all the answers to our questions and was super caring, friendly, and accommodating.

Great cabin in the woods

The cabin was ideally situated between Morrisville and Stowe. Close to the highway but far enough away to really feel like you were in the woods. It worked well for two couples with two bedrooms and two bathrooms and a nicely laid out kitchen, dining area and living room.

Slice of Heaven

This was the perfect place for us to be able to "unplug" and enjoy nature and the beautiful world around us. The home was clean, private, cozy, and very unique. Claudia is doing amazing work as a steward on this planet, and she has inspired us to try and encorporate some of that into our daily lives at home. This is the perfect place to go if you want to get away from all the noise of the city and enjoy the wonderful world and nature around us. We were able to see several different nearby waterfalls and there are too many wonderful hiking trails to keep count. This was a slice of Heaven for us and we hope to be able to come back and visit again.

Perfect!

We stayed with our 7 year old son and our 2 year old dog in this charming, cozy log cabin. Claudia is a gracious host who passionate about helping animals and being a steward of the earth. We loved meeting the animals at the sanctuary! Location was convenient to Stowe and Morristown. Our dog had so much fun, and we could relax knowing we were in a truly dog friendly property!

Awesome Host and neighbors

Host was very responsive to any questions or issues, and when 2 of our "children" escaped from me on their dual leash, Claudia and her tenant Matt jumped in to action. It took 2 hours of tracking, but Matt and I found them 2 miles away in a dairy barn!! Even several of the neighbors went out searching for us. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a true Vermont experience without all the "resort type luxuries" that detract from it.

I am a log cabin builder and a writer and my passions are reflected in both. As an advocate for our beautiful planet. I re-cycle, re-use and re-store whenever possible. Dogs are a true love of mine and I basically rent to them and the humans are tagging along. So please bring them!!!
The cabins are a very special place and I have heard more then once that it is a place for healing, contemplation and connecting with nature.
I also started a farm animal sanctuary called Happy Heart Sanctuary which is about an hour from the cabin and I think you would love visiting the goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys and bunnies as well as a cow named Radar!

Thank you for taking the time to check out my listing!
