Comfortable and conveniently located apartment.
We've stayed here before and having two double bedrooms it's ideal for two adult couples - difficult to find apartments that aren't purely geared towards families. It's well equipped, a real home from home with uk tv, dvd and wi-fi. The ski lift is just a short trudge and gives access to a large ski area. I'm sure we'll return.

appartement spacieux
appartement agréabe car spacieux, bien situé à Termignon. Equipement de la cuisine insuffisant pour 6 personnes : on aimerait grande poêle et casseroles, cocotte minute, micro onde, gril pain... bonne literie Propiétaire très serviable .

Lovely people, lovely setting.
Perfect base for our ski holiday. Plenty of lovely skiing in a lovely genuine resort. All that you need at hand, a small supermarket, bigger one down the road, lovely restaurants, friendly people. Steve and Mona have been helpful and brilliant. Thank you for making our week lovely.

I live in England with my wife Mona who teaches yoga. I retired early in 2008 after 40 years at Yorkshire TV. I've been involved with mountain activities nearly all my life. I have climbed in Britain, the Alps and the Dolomites. 40 years ago I took up skiing and fell in love with the French alps. I have skied and walked all over France Austria Italy and Andorra. My wife our 2 daughters and their partners also ski and walk. We all get together when we can. The girls bring their friends. It's the best kind of holiday, lots of fresh air, activity, and then to relax in a nice friendly bar before coming home to a nice warm fire! I have converted the cellar into a smaller apartment and I am now in the process of renovating/restructuring the barn into living accommodation. So watch this space. We will be able to have bigger groups.

Why they chose this property

I visited Val Cenis 2003. We had a fantastic week with lots of new snow and hardly any lift queues! I'd been looking for somewhere to buy in the Alps for a while. The Maurienne Valley is perfect. For skiing in winter and walking in summer. This plus the friendly atmosphere and fantastic Alpine scenery made Val Cenis my 'first choice' holiday venue. Termignon is a little known gem, yet is easy to get to; no traffic jams at peak times! The National Parc is one of the largest protected areas in Europe. The Ski pass is "cheap" You are allowed one day extension to visit Val Thoren & 3 valleys. The location produces its own microclimate and has an excellent snow record. It has everything I want yet is still a very traditional farming village. The local produce is fantastic.

What makes this property unique

Termignon is a relatively undiscovered area. It's small and friendly, near to the Italian border. Compared to other alpine towns, great value for money. The skiing is uncrowded. The spectacular mountains are just the place to find peace and quiet if that is what you want. There is enough locally to keep everyone happy. The ski area includes Termignon, Lanslebourg and Lanslevillard, each with its own area but all linked together.
Unlike the custom built ski flats that each area has, our apartment is in the middle of the village whilst the ski slopes are only 6 or 7 minutes walk away.
Typically on Thursday evening, we stroll up to the slopes to watch the weekly 'descent au flambeaux' Torchlight skiing and have a hot wine or chocolate and a bit of cheese before walking back to the flat via a bar or two!
