Wonderful spacious apartment
The apartment is very comfortable, well equipped , and spacious. The air conditioning was a wonderful blessing during the warm July evenings. The location is great, close to many restaurants, bakeries and grocery stores. Useful info for coffee lovers: coffee maker is a drip style (No 4 filter), but there are also many coffee presses and a Moka Pot in the cupboard. We would certainly return to this apartment.
Great apartment in a great location
Everything we needed. In the couple of days when it got really hot, the air conditioning worked well.
Great Vacation Apartment
This apartment is in a great location, with very secure parking.
It is spacious, bright, clean and very well equipped. It has a very large balcony with seating and eating area. Very enjoyable.
Thank you, Michael, for your review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay in our apartment.
High Spec Flat Overlooking the Harbour
We found this a spacious and tastefully decorated flat. We loved the harbour views and we also appreciated the measure of privacy afforded by the apartment being one row back from the quay. We spent much of our time on the balcony when it wasn't too hot. When temperatures became more extreme in the second week we enjoyed the air conditioning. We liked the IKEA furniture and the lovely prints on the walls. We found the kitchen well equipped, with sharp knives, pots and pans, essential for those like us who have to eat gluten free. Our big find was the spectacular Cave, directly below the apartments, from which we enjoyed a delicious blend of Grenache and Syrah, decanted for us into a carton at a budget price. The whole area is beautiful, with well marked coast paths and cooler mountain walks at not too great a drive away. There are plenty of places to swim from, in warm and crystal clear sea. We felt our hire car was totally secure in the private parking below. Port Vendres and Collioure just up the coast were good places to walk in the shade through the narrow streets, where we found practising artist's shops between the bougainvillea, olive trees, agaves and campsis. We will be back.
Our relaxing 10 day stay in Port Vendre,
We were met by Eve who gave us a warm welcome, and also received a written welcome from the Ramsdens along with a bottle of wine.
We loved the apartment, it was clean and easy to look after, and well equipped door everything we needed. Vey good location for walking to many interesting places, also good secure car parking.
We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay in Port-Vendres and that our apartment was a good base for your stay. We hope that you will return to Port-Vendres and our apartment at some future date. There is so much
more to enjoy here.
A great place to stay
This is a very comfortable apartment in a quiet, secure modern building. It is full of light, and we especially enjoyed the terrace with its beautiful view. All the conveniences are provided, including air conditioning which we appreciated since we had hot summer weather in June. The owners were especially helpful answering our questions and concerns about the arrangements when we booked, and with their kind communications at the end of our stay. We hope to return!
Port-Vendres is situated on the sunny Mediterranean coast, south of Perpignan, about 10 miles from the Spanish border. Its natural deep-water harbour welcomes small cruise liners and yachts and supports a thriving fishing fleet and port. Imagine strolling along the quay to buy fresh fish from the local fisherman. Enjoy the many restaurants and the vibrant weekly market. There is a variety of shops, cafés and services within a short walk of the apartment.
Port-Vendres and its near neighbour, Collioure, with their beautiful scenery and light, attracted many artists, including Charles Rennie Macintosh, who spent his final years working in Port-Vendres. There are opportunities to enjoy a variety of coves and beaches, scuba-diving, windsurfing, fishing and cruises along the Spanish coast. A little train takes you through the hills and vineyards. You can easily explore the Pyrenees, the Cathar castles, Carcassonne, local vineyards and beautiful way-marked coastal paths and mountain walks.
Golf: There are eight and sixteen hole courses at Saint Cyprien and just over the border in Spain there are other highly rated courses.
