Tim Adams purchased this Cottage in 1997
Why Tim Adams chose Yeovil
The cottage has been in our family since built in 1997 and has been lovingly further modernised and updated in recent years. Fully modernised while retaining features such as fireplace, woodburner, exposed beams as well as oak stairs. Modern features inc underfloor heating (downstairs), CH radiators upstairs, double oven, ceramic hob, pressurised hot water, power showers etc. With 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms as well as large 'farmhouse' kitchen together with large lounge/dining room there is plenty of space for a great holiday. The garden provides a lovely setting to relax with a tranquil stream, sun loungers, BBQ, table/chairs, lawn (ideal for children) ..... The village has around 35 houses and a lovely church.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage is beautifully renovated to provide modern facilities while retaining all its charm. Chapel Cottage is located in a no through road with only 3 houses beyond - so with almost no traffic in the lane you can truly 'get away from it all'. Blackford has a lovely church and there are walks, historic houses, Jurassic coast and other places of interest within easy reach. There are renowned pubs and restaurants in the area that provide something for everyone - from quaint to modern!

Beautiful cottage in great location
We recently stayed for 2 nights in a group of 9 as a base for a wedding in the area. The cottage was very easy to find and had plenty of room on the drive to park (we had 4 cars). The owners were very accommodating before and during our stay. The cottage itself was beautiful and was spotless inside. The rooms were all very generous with 2 en-suites, a family bathroom plus a downstairs loo so was perfect for large groups - we had 4 couples plus a toddler. The kitchen had everything you need down to olive oil and salt and pepper! Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to others
We were delighted to host Darren and his group. They looked after the cottage and respected house rules etc... and will of course be welcome back anytime.
Short family get together
Superb, faultless. Exactly what we wanted for our family get together.
We were delighted to host your get together and hope you might come back again!
Amazing cottage - exceeded my expectations
The cottage was exactly as it looks in the photos, but felt even more spacious. It was perfect for our large family - beds for everyone, more than enough toilets and showers, and a great spacious kitchen to prepare food and eat in.
The area is so quiet and peaceful, yet close to the A303, so easy to get out to tour the beautiful Mendip Hills of Somerset. The cottage is in a quiet lane surrounded by lovely homes and quiet lanes for enjoying an evening walk.
The house itself was bright, welcoming, and gave us a relaxing and home feel atmosphere. I loved that there was some basic supplies available, such as tea bags, sugar and laundry soap for a couple of washes.
I also liked the privacy of the home and yet ease of access to the owners if needed. We were welcomed on our arrival and shown around which was really nice. It was great having fast internet WiFi - allowing us to stay connected.
If we were staying in the area again I would definitely choose Kingfisher Cottage. No hesitation - and the price point was spot on - honestly great value for the high quality of house.
We travelled to Cheddar Gorge, the Rock of Ages, and Glastonbury from the house. All within 45-60 minutes. A Morrison’s grocery was just 5 minutes away for all our food needs.
We appreciated the hospitality and genuine welcome we received from Alison and Tim. Thanks for having us!
Fabulous cottage in a fabulous setting
Booked this cottage as seemed an ideal location/size for a family get together coming from Essex/Cornwall and Canada! We weren’t disappointed, very warm welcome from Alison and the cottage was incredibly well equipped..the private garden was lovely and the surrounding countryside was stunning.. thankyou to Alison and Tim for being so friendly, informative and helpful. Would definately recommend.
We were delighted to host Linda and family and glad everything worked out well. You would all be welcome back again! Thanks for looking after our cottage.
Beautiful place to stay
This is an idyllic place to stay
We were 4 adults and 3 children so needed plenty of room
The cottage is spacious and well equipped
It was is better than home from home
Staying late October in to November I hoped we would be warm enough
The underfloor heating downstairs was really efficient and upstairs was just as warm
It has 2 lovely en-suite bedrooms and a family bathroom all the showers were spotless and worked well it also has a downstairs loo
The twin and the single bedrooms were also great
We only stayed 5 nights but it was so easy to settle in quickly because everything we needed was there
We didn’t spend much time outside due to the time of year but in the summer the garden would be great the little stream at the rear of the property is very pretty
We used the cottage as a base for sightseeing during half term and
To attend a family wedding
The owners were so accommodating they lent us a tie to replace the one we had forgotten !
I cannot find anything negative about this property
Many thanks for the kind comments and review! We were delighted to hear it all worked out so well and hope you will visit again if you are in the area...
