Had a lovely stay in the villa, everything was as good as expected. All the amenities that you could need, great location and very child friendly. The weather was fabulous and the local restaurants were superb.
We all had a great time with young grand kids as well.
Maggie was really helpful and a pleasure to deal with.
Excellent location and superb outside space and pool just could do with air con in the ground floor bedrooms
Unfortunately the property wasn't really what I expected.
On arrival the villa management company were very helpful and as we were travelling with young children allowed us to access the property early and provided a thorough tour of the villa.
Whilst the location is quite good for access to beaches and the marina it is located in what seems to be a rather dilapidated area - plenty of graffiti and a few abandoned
cars didn't give the area much of an upmarket feel. Also the property is adjacent to 2 other similar properties and only separated by a metal fence so noise can be a problem. It is also overlooked by high-rise flats. Although the property indicates that parking is available it is something of a lottery as this is only available on street.
It is also located in a maze of streets where traffic appears to vary between heavy and constant gridlock. We returned late one evening from a trip out and ended up stuck in a traffic jam for over 30 minutes - at midnight!!
The property was clean and well equipped. Unfortunately it is desperately in need of refurbishment. Most of the furniture is reminiscent of 1980's MFI - ill fitting, tatty and uncomfortable. The beds are also very uncomfortable and the lack of air conditioning in the downstairs bedrooms in the heat of mid August made them almost unusable.
The garden and pool area are pleasant. The area faces south west so gets sun virtually all day but unfortunately there is little to provide any shade - a few umbrellas would help? - and the layout does seem a bit odd. The external dining area appears to be located next to the sprinkler system so the table and furniture are soaked every morning, so unusable for breakfast. The barbeque is fine but is located next to steps leading to a gate to the adjacent property (which is locked and can't be used) but creates a potential hazard whilst using the barbeque as it is quite easy to step back and fall down the steps. Also the barbeque is very small and really only any use for cooking for 2-3 people, not the 9 people in our party.
Whilst the pool is large, even in mid August it was very cold. Most worryingly my granddaughter and daughter-in-law who are both blond ended up with green hair and a number of swimming costumes also ended up with a bright green tinge, so I'm very concerned what chemicals were used. As a result we had to ban the children from using the pool.
Overall, not an area or property I would return to - probably 3* at best
Excellent 4 bed villa in an ideal location. Managed by a very friendly and dedicated team who are willing to be flexible. It made our stay superb.
Outside space fabulous location great couple of hiccups the first day dealt with right away .
Maggie the owner made everything easy for us we really appreciated her letting us in to put things in the fridge for my son .
Great holiday close to Marina
The outside of this villa is bigger than depicted and is excellent. Great pool, plenty of loungers and outdoor furniture and gets the sun all day. We all had a great time in the pool. The villa is very well equipped but just not as attractive internally as the photos would depict so a little disappointing. The location of the villa is ideal. A couple of minutes walk to a good little supermarket and pizzeria etc. Ten minutes walk to the Marina which was brilliant. No car needed so everyone could come and go as they pleased. Five star were very efficient and made our transfers to and from the airport very easy. Vilamoura is lovely and we found it quite reasonable both for eating out and grocery shopping. Dolphin watching trip was very good, the little train that goes around, fun but a rather uninteresting trip around housing so we thought it to be a waste of money. We did go to Albufeira on the hop on bus but found it to be not as upmarket as Vilamoura and were glad to get back. All in all a great holiday.
5 minutes walk to the beach & Vilamoura Marina. 20 minutes walk to the famous Falecia blue flag Beach. It's also 5 minutes walk in the other direction to Quarteira beach & promenade and the local fish market and flea markets. There are many bars and restaurants on both beaches.
25 minutes drive from Faro International airport. Car hire isn't necessary, all shops, beaches, bars, restaurants and nightlife are within a 5-10 minute walk.
The villa is centrally located a few minutes walking distance from Vilamoura Marina on the one side and Quarteira and its many shops on the other. There is an Aquapark within 5 minutes drive and Go-karting within 10 minutes drive. Boat trips and all water activities are located within 10 minutes walk at Vilamoura marina.
Two local supermarkets, a pharmacy, a newsagent & a cash point machine are located at the end of the road within a minute's walking distance of the villa. Golf, tennis, horse riding, cycling, cliff-top walks, watersports, boat hire, aqua park & go-karting are all available locally.
