About Joy Eastman
Villa Laila is an English family owned villa. We have been holidaying in Menorca for the past 25 years, and Villa Laila has served us with many a happy holiday and brilliant memories. Our two daughters and their cousins have all grown up coming out to stay at the villa every summer, and still can't wait to get out there every year!
Joy Eastman purchased this Villa in 1980
Why Joy Eastman chose Es Mercadal
We choose this location because we holidayed there and was very impressed. We love this area because it isn't noisy/touristy its peacefull but close to all attractions and amenities. The ideal villa and place to suit everyone.Very quit and peaceful around pool sun terraces and not overlooked.Villa is very comfortable.
What makes this Villa unique
villa is on one level, spacious without being too big,not overlooked, very peaceful ,everything you could possibly want is provided. We love it still after holidays here for 26 years, we always really look forward to going back every year.Wheelchair friendly.Everything provided holiday makers would require includung beach towels.

Property was exactly as pictured on the web page -private yet close to the supermarket and bars.
As described all on one level which was appreciated as no stairs to climb. Outside pool area was private and pool man came a few times to do his work. The firm that looks after the property live opposite and helped with advice on TV/shower room queries and local information.
It was less than half an hour from the airport by taxi (36 euros for four people and cases.
Had a car for six days in which we explored the island and was surprised how green the island (it only rained for half an hour while we were there for 14 days.
In summary everything was comfortable and we recommend it to families and people of all ages
Absolutely lovely villa
The villa is perfect. Plenty of room for me and my family. Well furnished and was cleaned mid way through our stay. Fully air conditioned which was a must due to the heat wave we experience. There was an outdoor BBQ and plenty of seating on the patio. The pool is a decent size and gets regularly cleaned/maintained. Plenty of sunbeds, the garden was lovely, lots of greenery - shrubs and bushes with flowers. The trees were nice except the pine needle which dropped on you when sunbathing - no big deal though and the trees provided privacy from the neighbours although never heard anyone in the nearby villas. In fact found the island very quiet compared to other Spanish resorts.
There was an supermarket within walking distance which stocks pretty much everything you need. 2 restaurants nearby, 1 gastro tapas and the other English/Indian, Ate at both and had great meals. We did have a car which enabled us to visit beaches around the island.
Loved Menorca and this villa was perfect for our holiday.
Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here.
Thank you Ruth for your lovely comments , I am so glad you enjoyed Villa Laila as much as we do ,Joy.
Lovely, private villa
I visited villa Laila during the summer holidays with my wife, our 9 year old twin boys and my parents. It was great! Good space and amenities inside, air conditioning in all the bedrooms was essential! It was also great that beach towels were provided. (So nice not to have to use precious luggage weight carting towels to and from holiday!) The outside pool area was one of the best we have stayed in. This was largely due to the wonderful trees all around which provided a choice of sun or shade in different areas all through the day. The boys loved going in the pool every day and miss it now we are home! All the restaurants on the corner at the end of the road were excellent and well worth a visit. We also hired a car and can say that all the beaches we visited on the island are great but we found our favourite at Son Parc. It was easy to get to, with a car park close to the beach itself and although there were plenty of people using the beach still managed to feel not too built up or commercial. All in all a great place to stay and one we will remember fondly.
Thank you Stephen, so glad you enjoyed your stay at villa laila.
We went to this villa in 2014 everything we could possibly need wa supplied including beach towels, very well equipped, clean and comfortable villa. Peacefull not overlooked, we will be booking again for 2015, a real find can't recommend enough. NEAR BEACH AND RESTAURANTS AND LITTLE WELL STOCKED SUPERMARKET COUPLE MINUTES WALK.
A Splendid Holiday
I rented this villa last year with my wife, my two year old son, and my wife's parents. When we arrived at the villa, we were impressed with the high standard of the upkeep. The owners obviously take pride in the villa. It is traditionally decorated and homely. It is also spotlessly clean. There was plenty of room for all of us with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking utensils we needed to prepare meals at home. Within walking distance there is also a good restaurant, a bar, a souvenir shop selling English newspapers and a nice little supermarket. There is also a port with a plesant cafe. We hired a car and went to the nearest beach which was picturesque and clean. It's also possible to walk to the beach if you don't have a car - it would take about 25 minutes. The swimming pool was a good size and my son loved being able to go for a swim any time he liked. Everything you need is on your doorstep. We had a lovely time in a lovely villa and will be booking again next year. I cannot recommend this villa highly enough.
