The Samuel Beckett Apartment - Sleeps 5
Liam & Fiona Travers
About Liam & Fiona Travers
I come from a family background in the hospitality industry. I grew up in Kildare which is about 45 minutes from Dublin and worked for many years in my parents hotel there. I emigrated to New York for a number of years and when I returned in 1990 I purchased this property in Dublin City. As I am a qualified builder and carpenter I undertook to restore this house over a number of years and restore it to some of its former glory. As you can see from the pictures there are a lot of original features which I managed to retain and I am pleased that I can finally share them with people from all over the world. I am now living in Kildare again and am married with a daughter. As my parents before me I am committed to providing all of my guests with a wonderful holiday experience in a beautiful period house. I am available at all times for my guest either by phone or email and am happy to answer any query.

Why Liam & Fiona Travers chose Phoenix Park
I chose this location for the proximity to the city centre and of course the beautiful Victorian Redbrick lined North Circular Road. These properties are a feature of Dublin and are preserved by Dublin Council. The fact that the Phoenix Park and the Botanic gardens are within walking distances is an absolute plus, providing plenty of recreational activity. Numerous pubs, restaurants are within walking distance and I feel that the house provides a sense of character and charm not matched by modern buildings and houses.
What makes this Apartment unique
There are a number of benefits to staying in this property. Located close to the heart of the city of Dublin there is an excellant transport system by bus and light rail that means all of the sights can be visited with the minimum of fuss. The building itself is a beautiful Victorian property that has unique charm while offering all the modern comforts that a guest could expect. The location is ideal as it is quiet while being convenient to all shopping, sights, transport, museums etc. that makes a holiday. Located beside the Phoenix park which is Europe's largest urban park the traveller can have a taste of the country while still remaining in the city. There truly is something for everyone.

We stayed in the James Joyce apartment, which was bright and spacious. A bowl of fresh fruit welcomed us weary travelers upon our arrival. Kitchen was well equipped; and the shower had good pressure with water temperature that was consistent and easily controlled (one thing we learned to appreciate in our travels!). The building is in a nice area, close to neighborhood grocery stores, pubs and restaurants. We also enjoyed the proximity to Phoenix Park. Super convenient bus stops just outside the building gets you to City Centre and other city attractions within minutes. Liam and Fiona were very nice to work with, and we especially appreciated the transportation that was arranged for us from the airport to the apartment to get us off to a great start in Dublin.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review.
We look forward to welcoming you back again to Glencourt in the very near future.
Until then take care

Nice unit. All the features we needed. Particularly enjoyed the washing machine. The unit was on the ground floor, which we needed for my Mom. Nice neighborhood, surrounded by family homes, with a Tesco just around the corner.
Just a hop and a skip to city center, for restaurants and activities. Try Smash Bistro, we loved it.
Apartment located in a nice but developing area of Dublin. Dublin Bus 46A literally stops in front of #151. The 46A can get you to any part of the Dublin area and runs most frequently. Local food shopping at Lidl is just a few minutes away and provides ready-to-eat meals in addition to a complete line of groceries.
The Beckett apartment is conveniently located on the ground floor and is fully equipped and well furnished.
Loved our stay here. Super convenient to bus lines and our tour bus stop in the Phoenix Park. The owners prearranged airport pick-up and drop off at the apartment- so important after an overnight flight; we were too tired to concentrate. Had a quick nap the first morning and we’re off and flying around Dublin. We had 5 adults, which was a bit rough with a fold away, so we rotated, but children would fit just fine.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review.
We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and that you found the location convenient. It's a great place to base yourself while exploring the city.
Hope to see you again sometime.

Everything you need in an awesome location!
From arrival to leaving we loved every part of our stay! The apartment was very clean and had everything you need to enjoy your stay! It is a 25-30 minute walk to the Temple area which we walked everyday! We felt super safe and never had any problems! We would for sure stay here again and would recommended it to anyone!
close to downtown, half an hour walk. spacious, clean. Comfortable bed. Probably time for some new towels....
This house is a beautiful Victorian building on a tree lined street adjacent to the Phoenix Park and and Botanic Gardens situtated just 10 minutes by bus from the city centre.
There is an excellent public transport service right outside the front door so a car isn't necessary.
There is a major supermarket just 3 minutes walk away as well as a pharmacy, bakery, butchers, medical centre and a laundromat for guests that need this facility.
There are cafes, pubs and restaurants all within easy walking distance (max 10 minutes) and one pub in particular plays traditional Irish music nightly and has to be visited during your stay. It's an old Irish pub and people gather nightly to play here. Not to be missed!
There are also excellent restaurants so if you don't want to cook you could pop into L. Mulligan's Bistro (check out the review it got in the NY Times), Plan B, Cucina, My Thai and various cafes for that all important cup of coffee and chat.
We have eaten in all of these establishments and we couldn't fault any of them so rest assured that you won't be disappointed.
If you plan on eating in the city then it's only a short bus ride or walk to find a wealth of restaurants and places to eat that will take your breath away. The quality and standard of food in Dublin not to mention the variety is second to none so there really is something for everyone.
There are also some takeaways nearby so if you don't want to cook or if you don't want to venture out this is an option also.
Following is a list of the some of the sights you would enjoy in Dublin.
All are within easy reach of our property and while there are many more than listed here we thought we would give you some to start with.
