Cottage Near Civray, Vienne, Poitou-Charentes, France - Relaxing And Peaceful Location For Those Who Love Walking, Cycling And Sun Bathing Round The Pool.
About Sandra Halford
My husband, Rob, and I retired to France 12 year ago with with our Westie, Sammy and have since adopted another Westie, Paddy. Unfortunable Sammy and Paddy are no longer with us. We had dreamed of retiring to France for many years and at last our dream has come true. Having bought our dream home, we decided that we would renovate the cottage, for our family and our grandchildren, the eldest of whom is 29 years of age, and then we decided to share our love of this area with other people. We live discreetly on site providing a personal service, if required.
Sandra Halford purchased this Cottage in 2008
Why Sandra Halford chose Saint-Pierre-d'Exideuil
We decided to live in the region of Poitou-Charentes because of the climate enabling us to follow one of our hobbies which is gardening, the pace of life and the lovely countryside and also it was within an easy drive back to the South East of England where we come from and enables us to visit family and friends.

Amazing chilled holiday
Both myself and my fiancée and dog Monty had an amazing relaxing holiday - the hosts are absolutely warm and friendly. The surroundings and pool are excellent and we had a very enjoyable and chilled holiday spending lazy days by the pool. Hope to return next summer. Paula,

Superbly relaxing spot
We had a lovely week at the gite which was really well equipped and in a beautiful quiet spot. Sandra & Rob were excellent hosts & even provided a welcome basket.
The gardens and pool area were lovely for relaxing in and playing games and there were walks in the woods nearby.
This is a quiet spot, quite a drive from main ‘attractions’ but les Vallees des Singe monkey park near by is excellent.
We thoroughly enjoyed the week (the provision of DVDs and a range of board games was great for family times)
Beautifull place, very friendly owners. Always available for help but not intrusive, hardly knew they were there. Plenty of useful information provided for us about places to visit, tourist attractions. Would definitely recommend and return to this place.
Perfect lazy week
My wife and I along with our 2 little dogs have just stayed a week in this beautiful gite. Welcomed by Rob and Sandra they made us feel so welcome and at home right from the start. Although they live on site they are never intrusive, always happy to help and really cannot do enough for you, they are an absolute lovely couple who enhanced our holiday and for that we thank them 😉. They provided us with a great welcome pack including wine, beers, pizza and even treats for the dogs who where busy playing with their 2 little westies. Much needed after a long drive. Although rural it’s only a 10 minute drive to supermarkets, local amenities and markets etc, Rob is always happy to advise where is worth a visit, all you need to do is ask, nothing was to much trouble. It was perfect for the peaceful break we wanted and we would highly recommend it. Thanks Rob, Sandra, Sam and Paddy much love Darren, Bev, Frank n Bruno 👍
A lovely gite and a warm welcome
We had such a warm welcome from Rob and Sandra, and the welcome basket was very well stocked and contained just what we needed after a long long drive. The gite was great for 4 adults and a baby. It was great to have a proper cot provied for the baby for over night and not a travel cot. There was also a travel cot to use as a playpen in the living room, patio or pool side. The pool area was lovely and had sun all day long, it was a proper sun trap. Rob and Sandra were fab, always available but never intrusive. They provided lots of advice and suggestions for things to do in the area. A lovely place which we’d love to visit a again.
Sandra and Rob were perfect hosts from the moment we arrived.
Great welcome pack including a large variety of food and drink.
The property was better than the photo's and very spacious.
Having a private pool and garden made for a very relaxing holiday.
Will definitely be returning next year.
