1 bedroom quiet location
I am a married mother of 4 children (26,26,19 and 17 years old). I play tennis, enjoy house interiors and love my pug dog Mabel. I have chickens and enjoy cooking, gardening and travelling.
Philippa purchased this Cottage in 2014
Why Philippa chose Brenchley
We had 4 empty stables that we have just renovated into this luxurious property which is in a quiet and secluded spot.

Fantastic Mini Break
We had a wonderful time this weekend staying at The Old Stables. Philippa was fantastic from the get go, and even though she couldn't be there, answered any questions we had straight away.
The property was wonderfully clean, and had everything we needed and more.
The only thing that was a little disappointing was how quickly the hot water disappeared. By the time one of us had showered, the hot water had run out and I ended up having to take a freezing cold shower. I wouldn't mind this, if we had spent ages in there, but we didn't.
Other than this, the weekend break was fabulous and we would definitely recommend and return ourselves.
I’m so sorry to hear about the hot water. Typical that I wasn’t there to sort it out for you as usually there is loads of hot water and we never run out!
Thanks for letting me know and hope it didn’t ruin your weekend.
Peaceful, cosy and stylish
I booked this property for a cosy long weekend in the Kent countryside and was not disappointed. The place is thoughtfully decorated, has a well equipped kitchen and is set in a peaceful rural setting. The bedroom is very cosy and quiet and the bathroom has a great shower with plenty of hot water.
Communication with the owner Philippa was great; and upon arrival gave us lots of tips on local pubs, restaurants, walks and day trips. And for those travelling with dogs the small courtyard outside is secure and there's even a paddock for them to stretch their legs right on your doorstep.
Would thoroughly recommend and definitely consider returning!
Lovely to meet you and thank you for your lovely review. Philippa
This place is a delightful haven in rural Kent. With many luxurious touches, complete with fresh eggs and vegetables it is heaven to re turn to at the end of a touring day.
Thank you for your lovely review. Hope to meet again. Philippa
Great get away in the countryside
A great place to stay, in a lovely location in the countryside. Very convenient for visiting Sissinghurst, Great Dixter and numerous other places. Phillipa is a great host. She gave us lots of ideas for places to visit and to eat. A wonderful added extra was being able to pick fresh fruit and veg from Phillipa’s garden. Will definitely stay again when we’re next in the area.
Lovely to meet you and thank you for your kind review. Do come and stay again. Philippa
A wonderful find
A perfect little property for a weekend getaway in the beautiful Kent countryside. Wonderfully located near the villages of Brenchley, Matfield and Horsmonden. The old stables are beautifully maintained, comfortable and with all the mod cons to make a self catered weekend ideal.
Phillipa even delivered fresh eggs upon arrriving! Would thoroughly recommend.
Thank you for leaving such a kind review. Hope to host you again. Philippa
Paradise in England !
Literally, this was the best country overnights stay we have ever had. The " Old Stables " is designed and hosted by Philippa for a luxury stay in the rolling green hills of Kent. You can choose to go out to terrific pubs or restaurants close by or gather ( freely ) fresh grown herbs , kale, lettuces and more to cook in her well appointed kitchen. As the property is extensive, we wandered through the meadows and sat next to the mesmerizing pond.
It is private, relaxing and lovely. Philippa has thought of everything !
Bill, thank you so much for your lovely review. Am so pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope to meet you and Kelli again. Philippa
