About Helen Garlick
Owner Helen Garlick lives in Fernhurst West Sussex with her partner and between them they have five children ranging from 19 years to 28 years. after years looking for a dream French home, she was lucky enough to find La Haute Haye in 2012
Helen Garlick purchased this Farmhouse in 2012
Why Helen Garlick chose Saint-Jacut-du-Mené
La Haute Haye provides a wonderful setting for a holiday all year round. Winters spent by the cosy fire with the luxury of a swim in the heated indoor pool. Spring when the beautiful Brittany countryside really starts coming into its own with the forests bursting into green life. Summer is time to explore the beaches, go sailing, savour seafood of local speciality cocquilles st jacques. Autumn is often the best time of year with long sunny days and the fruits of the year to enjoy. The mild temperate climate enables you to enjoy barbecues in the longer sunny evenings from March to November. Enjoy!
What makes this Farmhouse unique
La Haute Haye is we believe unique in the Cotes D'Armor area with its wow factor indoor heated pool and professional standard clay tennis court. Pool and tennis court available mid May-September. It is easy to get to from the UK whether by ferry to St Malo (1 hour's drive) or Dinard airport (again 1 hour away) so you arrive still fresh after your journey rather than slogging over miles of unknown French countryside! Its peaceful rural setting in a tucked-away hamlet provides an ideal base to get away from it all whilst having the amazing Brittany beaches, golf courses and other attractions within less than an hour's drive. Altogether, the property is in a magical setting near the river Rance and the Forest of Bocquen.

Brilliant home for a large family group!
There were 13 of us in our party ranging from 2 yrs to 60 and we had a wonderful time at La Haute Haye! We played tennis and swam every day and the massive living room provided us all with enough room to spread out and relax. We didn't really need to leave the house but we did on a couple of days and visited Dinan (a lovely old town with a castle) and Mont St Michel (1.5 hours away and very busy but worth it!). The property was very rural so we had to drive everywhere but it was only 10 minutes to a lovely bakery in Colinee and 15 mins to a big supermarket in Medrignac. It really was a lovely place to stay with our family and we would definitely return!
A fantastic holiday home
Our family spans 3 generations, from aged 2 to 66 and we all had a great time. We made good use of the pool and tennis courts as well as visits to different coastal resorts and major towns.
Large property which accommodated 6 adults and five children. The pool and tennis court were fantastic. The kitchen and equipment were of high quality. We had a problem with the dishwasher and a new one was fitted the next day - outstanding service. Easy drive to supermarkets and local towns and the beach. Could not recommend the place more highly.
A lovely, comfortable family holiday.
Delighted that you enjoyed your stay. So much beautiful sunshine in Brittany at the moment - yet not too hot!! We loved having you.
Family get together
We were a party of 11 family members of all ages and found the house very welcoming and comfortable, any minor problems were dealt with very efficiently by Sue the energetic house manager. A great time was had by all and the pool ensured everyone was happy 😃 regardless of the weather.
The house is fantastic, extremely well equipped with everything you might need. We spent a lovely two weeks, enjoying the pool every day, playing tennis (of sorts), cooking or barbecuing most evenings and visiting the area during the days. We were lucky with the weather as it was warm but not too hot. Our grandson learned to ride his bike without stabilisers on the extensive drive. We visited Dinan twice to see the castle and town and ride on the road train, and then to take a boat out on the river and had a fantastic lunch. We went to Dinard and elsewhere for great days on the beach, local markets and towns.
A great holiday house which will be hard to beat or even match. It felt like a home, not just a rental property.
So pleased to read your kind review Elizabeth We are delighted that you and your lovely family spent such a very happy time here. You’re welcome to return anytime! Warmest wishes, Helen and Tim
