Doug and Phillipa would like to welcome you to our much-loved holiday home. We would be pleased to answer any questions, whether by phone, email, or even in person, if you are able to visit us at home in Kingston upon Thames.

Why Doug or Phillipa chose Vence
Our "must have" priorities were: to have beautiful views, preferably including sea views, to be within easy walking distance of a nice town, and to be within easy driving distance of Nice airport. Other things, like a swimming pool and a summer kitchen, were on the "nice to have" list. To be honest, we were really rather surprised to find a house which ticked every box for us, and every time we visit we are reminded how lucky we were.
What makes this Villa unique
What we find most striking is the stunning views - up to the mountains, across the valley, and down to the sea, but also we believe we have been very lucky to combine easy access by foot to Vence with complete tranquillity.
100% refund if cancelled at least 60 days before arrival date.
a brilliant holiday
As a 3 generation family the villa ticked all of the boxes. we all enjoyed the pool and the location is fantastic, so peaceful in the evenings when dining outside. The layout is ideal and we all did not want to leave! Many thanks to Doug and Phillipa for allowing us to share the villa.
A wonderful Villa in a wonderful location!
The villa was really lovely, we had everything we needed for 6 adults and 2 small children. The view across the mountains is outstanding, and you can certainly waste a good amount of time looking out over it from the beautiful infinity pool! Our whole party had a really lovely, relaxing week together, I would highly recommend it.
breath taking scenery included in a stunning villa that supplied everthing
A stunning villa which catered for everyone. Local picturesque towns and fabulous array of restaurants. plenty of walking opportunities , be it walking 10 minutes in to town or climbing up a hill to see lots of grass hopper butterflies !!
Great size property for large family , the pools amazing with fantastic views !!
Had a wonderful time with family 3 adults , 5, children.
Villas large and comfortable for a party this size .
Pool is amazing , the only downside is the hill from villa to main road very steap for old people or pushing a buggy ect.
There’s no air-con but plenty fans , we had the most humid of weeks as most of Europe is going through at present .
Shops are 25 min walk away , nice quite location for relaxing and having a break .
Wifi is trouble free and villa has all amenities for a perfect family stay.
Our Vence Vacation
This is a wonderful, well-kept villa and garden and even more lovely than the photos portray. We are a family of 8 - three generations from ages 7 to 77 and we loved this home away from home. It was clean, cozy and included everything we needed. The pool was a major attraction but the summer kitchen was frequented as well - with local produce and after visits to the butcher and fish monger. Turns were taken as to who jogged after the croissants each morning for breakfast. There are a number of charming villages within short driving distances, St. Jeannet being a favorite, though we often walked to Vence as well. A highlight was being on the Town Square (Le Grand Garden) during the World Cup victory. The French were charming, friendly and appropriately delighted and we loved joining the celebration. Another highlight especially for the little boys was swimming twice in the Mediterranean Sea.. and having Nutella Crepes. We want to come again!!
Fabulous villa with everything we needed and in good condition . Vence was lovely .
Fabulous holiday . The villa was perfect and the views amazing . We had a wonderful holiday .
Vence is a very attractive small town, consisting of the old walled town with its cobbled streets and pretty restaurants, and the newer town alongside, which is also very attractive, centred around a very nice square which is surrounded by cafes and restaurants. In all there are said to be over 100 restaurants in the town, although we haven't counted yet, together with every other facility you could need - several supermarkets, nice shops, a cinema (films are generally dubbed in French), a public swimming pool, an English library, tennis courts, etc.The house is 1km from town, with the walk being safe, level, and very pleasant, with great sea views along the way.
The villa is 20-25 minutes from Nice Airport by car (or 45-60 minutes by bus). Car hire is not essential, as Vence is well connected by bus and rail, but we would certainly consider it an advantage in order to get the most from the holiday.
Vence is famous for "the Matisse Chapel", which is 5 minutes walk from the villa, and nearby St Paul de Vence is an ancient walled town with great artistic history and presence.
The nearest seaside resort is Cagnes-sur-Mer, at about 10km.
Going west, Antibes is about 20 minutes drive, and Cannes is about 30 minutes. To the east it is 35 minutes to Monte Carlo, and another 20 minutes to Italy.
In all, there is a huge amount to do and see within very easy reach, whether by car, bus, or train.
