Apartment in Canterbury, Kent, England - Spacious City Apartment, In A Peaceful Location, Yet Within A Short Stroll To City Centre
About PAUL STEER
We are a young couple with 2 young children & we live in Canterbury. I have lived here from university age & my husband has lived here all his life. This is a great city to live in & we are so lucky to have access to Europe & London on our doorstep.
PAUL STEER purchased this Apartment in 2014
Why PAUL STEER chose Canterbury
The inspiration for buying the apartment was based on a lovely weekend we had in Oxford in a similar high quality apartment. We aimed to provide something similar in our vibrant home town of Canterbury and offer people a similar experience to the one we enjoyed. We looked at many apartments, but chose this property based on the desirable location…quiet, close proximity to amenities & city centre, parking and quality of finish. In fact all that we would look for. Canterbury itself has much to offer for families and couples alike. Whether exploring the history or the numerous restaurants & bars in this cosmopolitan city.
What makes this Apartment unique
Benefits to this property over others is the close proximity to the centre with a parking space, but at the same time being in a quiet, safe location far enough away from the noise and congestion of a more centrally located property.

Central, cosy and peaceful.
We really enjoyed our stay. The location was excellent and the apartment had everything we needed. A home from home!
Ideally located with parking which is a definite bonus in Canterbury.
The flat was perfect and had everything we needed for our stay, walking distance to the town centre even for a slow unfit walker like myself. Ideally located to travel across the county.
The only negative comment I would make and this is no reflection on the flat, is that the water for a tea drinker like myself was urrrgghhh and would recommend that you bring bottled water for tea.
Lovely stay in Canterbury
This was a lovely spacious flat that greatly enhanced our stay in Canterbury. A nice walk to the High Street and the majestic cathedral.
Ideal base for visiting Canterbury and East Kent
Very spacious, clean and comfortable accommodation. Beautifully decorated and thoughtfully laid out. There were some nice welcoming touches and it was easy to feel at home. The kitchen was so well equipped that eating in was no hassle (though a dishwasher would have been appreciated). The property is conveniently situated for a short walk into the centre of Canterbury but the trade off being that, although set back from the main road, you do get the noise and lights from the early morning traffic. Having an allocated parking space is certainly a bonus. We were only there for a short stay but could see that it would also be perfect for anyone needing a much longer rental.
Good value and location
I’m giving this a 4 as I wasn’t keen on the shower. Because the plexiglass shower door panel is so short, you can only have the water pressure on extremely low otherwise you will have water all over the bathroom. The showerhead could definitely use a good cleaning to remove the mineral build-up. The flat was in a convenient location for the Canterbury East rail station and the bus station, was a 10-15 min. walk to the town centre, and was good value for money. I had wonderful communication with management and was even provided with a fan as requested. It was fairly quiet except for the tenant upstairs who vacuumed at 12:30 am one night. It’s wonderful to stay in a place like this with the use of a kitchen and washer/dryer rather than being in a hotel room where it feels like you’re in a box. You also get so much more value for your money. Would definitely recommend.
Thank you for your feedback, we are always looking to improve the property to provide a high standard of accommodation.. We completely agree about the shower head & a new one has been fitted. Unfortunately the curve in the bath design prevents the screen from being any longer. We are glad you enjoyed your stay & may see you again in the future.
Whitstable is a popular seaside town and shingle beach. Good range of local shops, restaurants & a small harbour from which a local shellfishing fleet operates. The Neptune pub sits virtually on the beach, & is a nice spot for a pint & lunch. There is a cycle path between Whitstable & Canterbury called the crab and winkle way. Tankerton beach has timber groynes and sand at low tide. The grassy slopes that lead down from Marine Parade enhance the rural character of the beach. Great for families.
