About Shelly Carlson and Andy Slater
Andy and I have lived in Arizona for over 20 years. We raised two children in Phoenix and both kids have attended Arizona State University. We moved to Civano in 2010 to enjoy a quieter lifestyle. Andy is an Engineer for a local firm and I work remotely from home for a fresh Potato Grower & Shipper. We live in Civano and the neighborhood is our point of refuge each day where we take long walks with our dog, Sasha, enjoy the local wildlife and visit with the neighbors.
Shelly Carlson and Andy Slater purchased this House in 2009
Why Shelly Carlson and Andy Slater chose Civano
We use FRAGRANCE FREE products in our Rolytons Lane Home. All laundry detergents and dish washing cleaners are free from dyes and fragrances. Household cleaners are limited to white vinegar, apple cider vinegar, baking soda and bleach for the bathroom fixtures. Bathroom bath, shampoo/conditioner, and hand soaps are free from fragrances and dyes. Rolystons Lane was our first house we purchased in Civano. I searched out every consignment shop and antique store to find that right piece of furniture or art to blend each room into a comfortable space. Every room has it's own character and you will feel rested after spending a few days. The kitchen is well stocked with upgraded All -Clad, Calphalon, and Le Creuset pots and all appliances are stainless steel. There's a gas bar-b-que (new June 2016) located on the back porch. Each bedroom has a flat screen TV and wireless hi-speed internet works throughout the house. We installed a new Master Walk-in Shower with grab bars in July, 2016. There's a lemon tree in back is ripe for the picking! We will greet you upon arrival with complimentary snacks, and breakfast fixn's. If you arrive late in the evening, I will have a frozen pizza in the freezer! We want you to feel at home the minute you walk through the door.

Civano Southwest Charmer
What a nice vacation we had! Shelly was an amazing host. We arrived at 11 PM and she had left eggs, bacon and juice in the refrigerator for us for breakfast. Snack table was a nice touch too. Lovely home on a quiet street. Nice backyard for sitting and relaxing too. Great walking neighborhood and community garden!
1st timers in Tucson
This was our first time visiting Tucson. We were so fortunate to find this home for our week long visit. We have stayed in my VRBO homes before and this package by far exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail of this home from the decorating to how the home was equipped made us feel so comfortable it was five star. We look forward to returning and staying at the Civano southwest charmer in the near future.
Shelly was a great hostess! We visited her house in Civano during our kids' Spring Break and college visits in the area. After a long day of travel it was nice to have the needed amenities on hand to not have to rush to the grocery right away. Shelly came over as soon as we contacted her to show us the lay of the land. There is great hiking nearby, plenty of nice choices to eat, and the house is well equipped for those who prefer to relax and unwind and soak up the "quiet" and sunshine. Civano and the surrounding neighborhoods were quiet and very nicely maintained. The coffee shop, pool, and tennis courts were an easy short walk from the house.
A desert home away from home!
This was my second winter get away at this property. Shelly and Andy are wonderful hosts! The house is immaculate and ultra comfy. I especially love that the house is near Saguaro Park East which is perfect for hiking and sunset viewing.
Great House and Neighborhood, even better hosts
If you are not lucky enough to book this house, check with the owner, they have others in the area. The little details and the big-picture-vision this owner has makes it one of the best houses we rent anywhere. This was the second year we rented this house and already booked with the owner for a third year.
Clean, comfy, cozy sums up the house. The neighborhood is very quiet and cute. And for the tri-fecta, the owner's details including nice mattresses and linens, comfy furniture, supplies for breakfast including eggs, bacon, OJ, muffins, creamer and coffee; a complementary bottle of wine and delicious snacks are a nice touch after a long day of travel to get there for us. Each bedroom has a TV and a good selection of channels. The BBQ is easy to use and heat consistently. The kitchen is well stocked with supplies and the basics (salt pepper and other seasonings).
Grocery store is close by for cooking at home. Airport and Downtown Tucson and easy drive. Looking forward to our next stay.
Short drive to the Fred Enke Golf Course, Saguaro National Park, Colossal Caves, Kartchner Caverns, and Pima Aviation Museum. Short hour drive to Mr. Lemmon for skiing and site-seeing.
