My family had an awesome week enjoying the outdoors!
Great camp, rustic feel. Very nice to just getaway. Great that the dogs could run free. Shower was a nice touch! Steve was responsive to questions.
Perfect place to disconnect from the world
We were looking for a unique weekend getaway. This was the perfect blend of camping and comfort, what we like to call glamping.
We played yard games, board game and cards all weekend. The site is setup perfectly whether it is sunny or raining. We were able to enjoy the great outdoors.
The cabin beds were comfortable. The biggest surprise was the lack of noise carrying from the gathering area into the cabins. I’m an early to bed, early to rise. My children and their guys are not. I was able to sleep without hearing them and in the morning they could sleep in without me disturbing them.
The outdoor shower was a big hit. It is tricky to get started but worth the effort. My daughters were skeptical but tried it and agreed one of the best surprises at the site.
It was great having everyone put down their phones and interact all weekend. Having no service forced it upon all of us. It felt great not to be tethered to a phone.
There was plenty of cooking utensils to prepare meals on the fire each day. The cast iron griddle was perfect for breakfast each morning. The smell of bacon brought everyone to the table.
Bring plenty of bug spray and check for ticks frequently while there. We used citronella candles all day along with the bug spray. Made it pleasant to sit anywhere. We came prepared for bugs but a good reminder.
I knew it was a winning vacation when my daughters started discussing the next time. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy a little piece of nature this weekend. It was beautiful.
A wonderful place to celebrate the beauty of our world and connect with those you love!
Our family shared a beautiful early fall weekend in this charming, cozy camp! Although our nighttime temperatures dropped into the 30's our cabins were comfortable with heaters. The main shelter was well stocked for preparing our meals and our times around the fire couldn't have been more enjoyable. The outdoor shower was "premier" as described...we also enjoyed the convenience of an indoor bathroom with hot/cold water. All of us (including the pups) took a long hike down to the river and back. The bright stars and peaceful quiet gave us a weekend of renewal and chance to connect with each other in a calm environment...what a gift!
The property was well laid out with ample space. Steve was very accommodating and responsive when setting up our stay and Jody was quick to respond to any question. The grandkids are already planning our next visit. The only downside was a rainy day, we let the tarps down and found that it might be good to locate a third one for the short side of the main cabin. We were able to eventually get it warmer but the other tarp would certainly help. Overall, the experience was great and the location made it memorable. The peaceful experience of looking at the mountain and relaxing was just what we needed. We will be back. Thanks Steve!
How Can a Place Be This Perfect?
We came here with a large group of friends in June, and it was quickly agreed that it would be a place we would come back to year after year. The weather in Warm Springs in the summer months is perfect - hot enough during the day to enjoy splashing around in the Jackson River in Hidden Valley, which is just a short hike/drive away, and cool enough in the evenings to enjoy cuddling up around the fire. The selection of lawn games complemented the corn hole boards and slack line that we brought with us. The outdoor kitchen is fully stocked, complete with an electric cook top, which along with the smoker and grill, can accommodate even a large crowd. We also used the propane griddle for breakfast one morning. Steve has thought of everything (and then some!) when it comes to stocking this place with the essentials. There are two under counter dorm fridges - plenty of refrigeration for food and drinks. The candle lanterns scattered around the kitchen and living area, along with the lights running through the rafters, create a warm and welcoming place to relax as it gets dark. There are two sleeping cabins on one side of the field that each have a queen bed, screened windows and a fan. Each are uniquely decorated in their own way. The quaint, rustic Love Shack sits alone on the other side of the field, nestled in the shade, and has two cots with ample quilted padding and a stone floor which helps keep it cool in the warmer months. The windows can be propped open to allow ample air flow through the screened in windows. There is another queen room, attached to the outdoor kitchen that also houses the only full bath at the camp. Steve was very accommodating and allowed us to bring a couple of extra tents to accommodate our larger group. The rustic hot/cold outdoor shower hut with a sink is near the Love Shack and was a real treat for every single one of us. Be prepared to enjoy an outdoor shower experience like no other.
