Ken and Elaine Hamilton
Why Ken and Elaine Hamilton chose Orcas
Our family was on what we thought would be the first of many trips to look at properties on Orcas but we all fell in love immediately with this house, these woods and this view! It offers everything we were looking for in a vacation rental as well as being the perfect place for us to gather with our family and friends for many years to come.
What makes this Estate unique
Being both on the water and in the woods feels extraordinary! There are no end of outdoor experiences to enjoy, from hikes in the woods, to collecting shells or driftwood on the beach, kayaking, boating, catching crab or harvesting oysters for dinner. Indoors there are cozy nooks for reading or puzzle making, or playing games, The huge kitchen allows our whole gang to gather to make meals together. And the quiet, starry nights make for good sleeping!

It was a lovely stay! Both homes are beautiful, well decorated and stocked! There are so many fun details, we all enjoyed every bit of the house!
We loved the view and and being on the water, but we couldn’t find a path to walk down to the beach!
Thank you sharing your home with us!
Our time in this amazing home was a treasure. The kitchen is exceptionally well appointed and bedrooms roomy and comfortable. Best of all, the view of the bay is breathtaking. Thanks to the hosts for gracious and prompt communication.
Our family loved everything about the house and gardens. Stunning.
Our 2 year old grandson had the BEST time too!
Family reunion after a wedding in Seattle
Well appointed kitchen.
Owners and property manager very accommodating.
Everyone loved it!
Great place for large groups
House and grounds were extremely well maintained. Bedrooms, kitchen, living area and deck were as advertised. Had a Wonderfull time with our children, spouses and grandchildren. Saw bald eagles, herons, sea lions, king fishers and crabs from the deck! Would go back in a heart beat!
We stayed at this beautiful home over Fourth of July week for my parents 40th wedding anniversary. We had the most wonderful time!! The main house is big, beautifully decorated, extremely cozy, and the perfect place to relax, take naps, and sleep in late. We spent a lot of time on the deck, overlooking Grindstone Harbor, spotting eagles, ferry boats, and “sea puppies” (seals). The kitchen has everything that you would need, ample counter space for our family dinners for 12, even with all of the cooks in the kitchen. The living room was a great gathering place to relax and watch a movie after a long day of exploring the island, and plenty of seating for our whole crew. The nook was a favorite of everyone. A great place to relax in the sun and read or book or take a nap.
And then there’s the gardens and the guest house! OMG, the gardens and grounds were gorgeous. Blooming hydrangeas, the magnolia tree, and the peonies! Flowers and greens galore!! For a family that loves flora and fauna, this property hit the mark!
The guest house was recently remodeled head to toe and was sooooo cute and modern. Bright whites and bright colors with the most adorable decor. Each bedroom had its own bathroom. I love that there were two bunk beds in two of the guest rooms, even though we had so much room we didn’t need them.
Orcas island is a special place itself and gives you plenty to do, and plenty of reasons to do nothing! Although we did not see any orcas as we had wished, we saw seals, dolphins, eagles, and lots of starfish! Our second visit to this beautiful island did not disappoint and left us rejuvenated!
Thank you so much to the Hamilton’s and Sarah for being so helpful and accommodating. We hope to be back sooner than later!
