Why Owner chose Penne
Great location with spectacular panoramic views. Mountains to the rear, valley and coast to the front. Remote yet just a 5 minute drive to the busy town of Penne that really captures the Italian flavour. Amazing aspect view pool and outside eating/drinking spots each with different views and complete privacy. Spacious, clean, and well equipped modern internal living area with 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
What makes this Villa unique
Set in 5 acres of 100+ year Olive trees, fully fenced and gated for complete privacy. Too many places to mention within 1 hour drive including the amazing Gran Sasso plains where you can enjoy a serious BBQ in the wild outdoors. And you have to try the Arrosticini that is unique to Abruzzo

A really well equipped house in a beautiful location.
This fine house provided us with a wonderful base for a truly enjoyable family holiday.
The house is set in a beautiful rural landscape, but conveniently close to good road links. The modern, well fitted kitchen has everything you could possibly need and we enjoyed many family meals overlooking the impressive view from the outside dining area.
The lounge area was really comfortable and our sons fully appreciated the picture quality of the very large smart tv (remember to bring your own login if a Netflix subscriber) and gaming console.
Having the swimming pool and garden allowed us to have a very relaxing time between visits to the beaches near Pescara as well as nearby towns such as Penne. Indeed, the photographs of the pool do not really do it justice as it was substantial enough for a our party to enjoy in the late afternoon. In the evenings, the addition of a table tennis table and dart board provided an opportunity for healthy competition amongst the family.
The bedrooms were spacious, very well fitted and comfortable, and the master bedroom was especially comfortable (one of the two bedrooms with aircon) as was the main family bathroom.
The communication with the owners was excellent at all times. During our time in Italy, the property managers, Karen and Al, were very welcoming, helpful and a great source of information about the locality. Indeed, they even took the trouble to recommend and book a restaurant for us one evening so that we could enjoy an authentic Abruzzo dining experience.
Overall, we had a fantastic holiday which will stay fondly in our memories and we look forward to returning in the not too distant future.
A big thank you to the owners and managers!
Lovely villa with stunning views
We were a party of 10 (5 adults, 5 children) who had a wonderful fortnight in Villa Uliveto. The scenery is breathtaking and there is ample space in both the villa and the grounds. The pool is about 1.2m in depth and perfect for children. Although the villa is in a very quiet location it’s only a 5 minute drive away from the beautiful town of Penne.
A car is essential, but it’s well worth driving into the mountains or heading towards the Adriatic Coast. Very few locals spoke English but were all incredibly friendly which added to the charm of our stay. We ate out on several occasions and found the food to be excellent value each time.
The owners and property managers could not have done more to help us enjoy our stay to the maximum (suggesting things to do and restaurants to visit) and I would not hesitate to recommend the property to anyone seeking to visit the wonderful region of Abruzzo.
Thank you for your review. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and would be more than happy to welcome you back anytime.
Pastoral life in Abruzzo
We stayed at Casa Uliveto for two weeks. The house lies in an olive grove about 3 km outside of Penne and you definitely need a car to get anywhere and to do the shopping etc. The location is very peaceful, except for the nights when the myriad of dogs living in the neighbourhood start their concert. The villa is well equipped with everything one might need, the kitchen big and nice to work in and the portico with its big table perfect for dinners. The views from the balcony of the bedroom level and from the pool area are absolutely gorgeous with hills, valleys and the Adriatic Sea, which is normally visible at least in the morning before haze hides it. On the other side one can see the mountains of Gran Sasso area.
The old town of Penne is very charming and you can spend there many hours just wandering around the narrow alleys and sitting in the cafes. Otherwise there isn’t much to see or do in Penne and you need a car if you want to go to the mountains or to the seaside. Everything seems to be nearby but the roads are so windy that it takes at least an hour to get anywhere.
Casa Uliveto is a perfect place for example for families who want to take it easy, to do excursions to the mountains or seaside and have kids big enough to know how to swim. The owner and housekeepers are very helpful in everything.
