Nice stay at mountainside home

Our family of 5 had a great stay at Samantha’s place on the mountainside. The home was spacious, clean, and matched the description well. Samantha was a responsive and thoughtful host. The home is in a remote location about 10-15 min drive up the mountain, so this is perfect if you want something off the beaten track! Thank you, Samantha!

Lovely house in the mountains

Lovely property with a really nice couple doing the rentals. We had to get to the house at 10pm and were thankful for Samantha’s comprehensive instructions. The road is not to bad once you get used to it which took us a few trips. The house itself was kept really clean, is beautiful to look at and has great views. Bedrooms and bathrooms are downstairs the kitchen, lounge and terraces on the 1st floor. It works well. The Swimming pool is large, well maintained and perfect for hot afternoons in. The outside area had a good barbecue, a swing and various seating and lounging areas. The house is in a group of 5/6 properties fairly close to each other with the owners having a couple of these. As a remote house everything is not perfect but what I was happy about is that the owners fixed things quickly when they went wrong. Overall we enjoyed being here and would recommend it to anyone wanting a break somewhere a bit different. Samantha we thank you for your hospitality. Best wishes

Lovely Spot

Such a lovely spot up in the mountains! Less touristic with beautiful scenery. Samantha was a very attentive and helpful host. We stayed for a week and saw a fair bit of Northern Crete with one trip to the South. The pool was great to have in a heatwave, and the house was very comfortable, tasteful and clean (with a mid-week service!). Very nice for two families of three to spend time together. Loved the goats and owl.

A magical vacation

If you love the countryside than this is your dream vaca! The views are spectacular, the pool was perfect and the villa was lovely and even more beautiful than we expected. We highly recommend this incredible place! It is a bit off the beaten track in regards going out at night but a very easy location to go to Chania for day trips, beaches and cultural excursion. Thank you Samantha and Jerry for an incredible experience!

Der perfekte Ort

Wir haben eine großartige Zeit in der traumhaften Villa von Samantha und Jerry verbracht. Der Aufenthalt dort hat unsere schon hohen Erwartungen nochmal um einiges übertroffen. Die Villa selbst ist ein echtes Juwel. Sie liegt inmitten der Apokoronas-Hügel und bietet einen beeindruckenden Blick auf die Berge und zugleich über die Küste auf das Meer. Das Haus, das aus massivem Stein erbaut wurde, verbindet auf gelungene Weise den Charme eines traditionellen griechischen Gebäudes mit modernem Komfort. Besonders genossen haben wir den privaten Pool und den liebevoll angelegten Garten, die ideale Orte waren, um zwischen den Ausflügen ans Meer, in die Berge oder nach Chania die sonnigen Tage zu genießen und zu entspannen. Die Lage in dem ruhigen Dorf bot uns die Möglichkeit, dem hektischen Alltag zu entfliehen. Gleichzeitig war es nur eine kurze Fahrt runter bis zu den schönen Stränden an der Küste und nach Chania. Schon bei unserer Ankunft wurden wir herzlich von Jerry und Samantha empfangen. Die Gastfreundschaft der beiden hat dazu beigetragen, dass wir uns sehr willkommen gefühlt haben. Besonders schön für uns und die Kinder war der spannende Trip in die Berge, den wir alle gemeinsam gemacht haben. Wir hoffen, bald wieder nach Kreta an diesen wunderschönen Ort kommen zu können!

The house is so much part of the real Crete, just away from the main Tourist areas but oh so far, you can't help but relax and switch off when you stay in Melidoni, locals going about local business with not a tourist in sight, mix with them and embrace the way to live, the diet, the social scene, the culture!

What makes this property unique

Peace and quiet apart from birds, goat and sheep bells,with the most amazing views. Blue sky, chill out by the swimming pool, gardens to match, fantastic views, night time sky is second to none with the Milky Way looking it's finest, shooting stars galore, soak it up it really is a special place.
