Detached Lakeland cottage with fascinating Quaker history dating back to 1703.
Full of history and character, just a little too remote for us.
Its a shame you found Mislet a little too remote, it's usually what attracts people to the cottage and the fact it is detached. It is only a tiny hamlet with no amenities, but Windermere is just over a mile away, or in the opposite direction The Watermill Inn in Ings.
Really enjoyed our few days in the Lake District. The property was charming and had everything we needed and was perfectly situated for day trips out. The whole process was completely painless.... I'd definitely recommend this!
A break away in the Lakes
Mislet cottage was full of character and charm. It was comfortable, homely and peaceful. The downstairs double bedroom was very spacious and our two girls, aged 6 and 8, slept comfortably in the upstairs bedroom which had a third single bed for their visiting Granny. There was a lovely view of fields and hills from the dining room and we all especially enjoyed watching the rabbits running around the garden in the morning. The owner, Martin, was very helpful and welcoming.
A great location for exploring the Lakes as not far from Windermere, Ambleside and Bowness.
Short break away
A quirky little cottage set in a very peaceful ,rural part of the lakes, not far from Windermere. Whilst not the most modern of holiday places , it had everything you needed . Great for people with dogs as there’s an enclosed garden area around the cottage.
It was as described - an incredibly old property with loads of historical interest.
A comfortable stay for four over a week of incredible sunny weather. We would highly recommend this property if you want something a bit different.
fabulous little cottage!
cottage was just delightful and decor totally in keeping with such a property. wonderful location, very peaceful and picturesque, yet on the doorstep of so many lovely places to visit. james, the farmer, was a lovely, friendly man. he was gracious enough to allow me to watch and take pics as he sheared his sheep! highly recommend!
The hamlet of Mislet is a walkers paradise close to the ancient village of Troutbeck
