Quiet, Comfortable and Spotlessly Clean
Firstly be aware that access is by a combination of unsurfaced farm track and a track through a field. That aside this should not be a problem for a car, just take it steady - it is worth it!
When "Easter Tulloch" comes into view it looks like a traditional stone built property and appears welcoming, your passenger will however have to get out to open the gate.
The other thing that immediately impresses is the expansive view across the Spey valley to the hills beyond, this is something you will not tire of and is ever changing.
Inside the cottage the open plan living space combining kitchen / dining / sitting is bright, airy and comfortably, but simply, furnished. The three bedrooms are also simply furnished and we found the beds very comfortable.
Make sure you don't forget your basics as "popping out to the shop" requires heading of to nearby Nethy Bridge, Boat of Garten or for more choice Aviemore.
The small patio area was well used sitting out for breakfast, to read during the day and to enjoy the spectacular sunsets we were treated to. We got mostly great weather and we were still sat out at 10.00pm and were not pestered by that wee creature -The Highland Midge!
As a base Easter Tulloch is great, you are soon into Aviemore with all its activities, the Osprey Centre is more or less on the doorstep, if you want to wander further afield the Spey Valley awaits with highlights such as the Knockando Wool mill, numerous distilleries (the brand new Macallan distillery and centre should be a must). We also headed to the magnificent Cawdor Castle and its lovely gardens via the impressive Dulsie Bridge built in 1755 and still going strong!
We had a great week staying at Easter Tulloch and would happily stay there again.
Note: the property was spotlessly clean and well presented when we arrived, a real credit to the housekeeping team.
A surprise through the sheep field.
Fantastic location and house. Clean, modern interior, really well finished and cared for. Drive though a sheep field and tranquility is at the top of the hill, next to woodland and great views. Heating was tricky, but a great wood burning stove. Will be back!
