Ty Canol, one of two converted stone cottages here at Porthiddy Farm West, is set within a delightful part of Pembrokeshire countryside, just minutes from the superb coastline of this very special part of Wales.
Awarded 5* from Visit Wales, this charming and well presented cottage is set in a wonderful rural location. Walkers will delight at the nearby coast-paths and there is ample opportunity to explore St.Davids (15 minute drive away) with its stunning Cathedral, excellent restaurants and boutique shops. Beautiful, local beaches offer the chance for idle-days or water-sports for the more active. This location provides an escape to a peaceful and attractive spot.
Upon your arrival at the cottages, one of the first things the owners recommend to do is make your way down to the beach on foot, across the neighbouring fields at Porthiddy Farm West, through the rough common in the valley and stop and take in the views of the bay.
This short walk will take you past old cottages built for fishermen and workers at the old slate quarry (now the “Blue Lagoon”) and is instantly uplifting, particularly if you’ve had far to come. It is a fantastic spot to catch a spectacular sunset as you look out west from the beach.
