Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: The garden borders a river.. Riverside cottage in an AONB. This charming riverside cottage, originally a 19th-century mill building, is situated on the banks of the tumbling River Clough, on the outskirts of the quiet market town of Sedbergh. The skilful conversion includes a fully fitted oak kitchen and quality pine furniture. There is direct access to the Howgill Fells and the Farfield Mill Heritage Arts Centre is adjacent. The holiday cottage is excellently placed for walking and touring both the Dales and the Lakes. Shop and pubs 1 mile.

Beautiful location overlooking the river by Farfield Mill.

Beautiful location overlooking the river by Farfield Mill. Internally the cottage could do with a little TLC to update the bathroom and the lounge furniture and general decor. Also it doesn't have it's own WiFi...there is a BTFON signal that comes and goes...we found it easier to go along to the Mill have a coffee in the lovely coffe shop there and access the free WiFi. There is a small rocky garden at the rear of the property which does get a bit slippery if it has been raining. A short drive takes you into Sednergh with the usual amenities of a small town. Overall we felt the cottage was reasonable value...it could be made more comfortable with a little investment.

I live very near to 2 Farfield Cottages - a hundred yards away on other side of mill - so it was extremely handy for our guests to stay in for a week. They loved it - especially the sound of the river Clough which I also enjoy from my bedroom. I've been here for 35 years now and love this area - I'm so pleased there is somewhere lovely for our friends and family to stay when my cottage is full.
