Comfortable house in beautiful area
The house was clean, spacious and equipped with all essentials for our 10 day stay. Our party of teenager, young adult plus parents all agreed Viganj is a great place to spend a holiday with lots to do including water-sports, cycling, boat trips and wine tours. Fab. holiday.
Just spent a wonderful week at Villa Peace in Viganj with my children. We found Sandra the housekeeper very helpful and friendly, the house clean and very well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed strolling down to spend each day at the seaside .. as well as the sundowners at Bar Montun and relaxed barbecues in the evenings. Highlights probably include taking the ferry to Korcula for the day, the day trip to Split and brushing up on our windsurfing skills :-)
Tucked away from it all!
Villa Peace is tucked away in a small hamlet about 5 minutes walk up from the sea. The two bedrooms on the top floor, both with twin beds, shared a bathroom and a double bedroom downstairs had it's own shower room and private outside area. There were also sofa beds in the living area but we did not use them. The villa was well maintained and equipped with all the basics. Outside, the terrace got the sun in the morning where there was a table, chairs and BBQ.
Viganj in May was quiet and peaceful. Evenings were cool but by the end of the week the weather was getting hotting up and the bars and bistros getting ready for the season! We found Bar Montun, a five minute walk away, good value for money - the owner Ivan was very friendly and knowledgeable. The supermarket was less than 10 minutes walk as was the ferry to Korcula (only 15 minutes crossing and well worth it!).
Great location for exploring the peninsula - we hired a car but only used it for the transfer to and from the airport and one day exploring - the rest of the time we walked. Bikes and water sport equipment was available for hire all within walking distance.
Thank you Clare, delighted you enjoyed your holiday in Villa Peace, and we agree, Viganj is lovely in May. Pleased to hear you were able to walk everywhere and explored Viganj as well as Korcula old town. We hope you return soon to explore even more! Best wishes, Lindsey
what a shambles!!
After having a first tremendous week in Dubrovnik, this apartment was quite a letdown.
We came as a group of six we werent able to have space and privacy from each other due to no soundproofing,no door on downstairs room. We were bitten to shreds by mosquitos,no nets or notice of this. The apartment was too hiot due to no air conditioning downstairs room or living room. Used drinking water once and had bad stomachs, no welcome pack of basics as requested on arrival. Television didnt work and everytime water was put on the most excruciating noise came on in room downstairs!!! To top it all there were vermin running constantly between the upstairs bedrooms, which led to a near state of exhaustiion for the upstairs residents.
All i can say is thank goodness Viganj was such a beautiful place and Bob saved the day with his outings. Also everyone else we met were very friendly and accommodating.
would certainely not re book. try living their yourself.
We are really sorry you did not enjoy your stay. As I expressed at the time, we were very shocked with your review, having been in close liaison with your partner during your stay. Our Manager Sandra lives just down the road and could have been there in minutes to sort anything out. Of course we had a thorough look at the property on receiving your comments, have since stayed there ourselves and have since had a number of happy guests stay there too. I am glad you enjoyed the rest of your holiday and enjoyed the beach and boat excursions too.
Sincerely best wishes, Lindsey
Peace at Villa Peace!
Where to start? Fantastic holiday, begun with Sandra the lovely "meet and greet lady" with her welcome package and local insights.
Fantastic views from the little hamlet (Villa Peace is one of five restored houses in the hamlet) with a short stroll down to the sea (with a couple of bars and restaurants) or a 2 minute stroll up to an excellent typical Dalmatian restaurant on the hill, behind the villa.
Our family enjoyed playing on local clean beaches with gin clear water. The house had all that we needed, even for our evening barbecues on the front terrace (have I already mentioned the views?)
The villa was quiet (afternoon siestas - aaah) but close enough to amenities when we wanted them.
We will return, both to the area and this villa in particular.
Peter, so glad you and your family enjoyed Villa Peace and Viganj and found it had everything you wanted for a peaceful and memorable family holiday. We look forward to welcoming you back! Best wishes, Lindsey
Great location - friendly people and very relaxing
We had a wonderful week at Villa Peace!! Can recommend to anyone looking for a get away from it all time - in lovely surroundings and very comfortable accommodation. Thank you !!!
So glad you all had a wonderful week in Villa Peace. I will pass your lovely comments to our housekeeper who worked quietly behind the scenes to make sure all was just right for you! Please do return when you can. Best wishes, Lindsey
Villa Peace is a fully restored traditional old stone house located in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Escape the stresses of everyday life: gaze at the splendor of the unspoilt countryside, sparkling Adriatic, Korcula Island and vineyards, breathe in the fresh mountain air then, after breakfast on the sunny, secluded balcony or patio take a 5 minute stroll down to the beach to explore or laze the day away.
Air conditioning, private sunny barbecue terrace area. Minutes from the beach, bars, restaurants, shop, Korcula ferries, vineyards, boat & windsurfer hire.
Other Activities: yachting, boating
Please note that cars can be parked 40m away, not directly outside the house (hamlet is in a nature conservation area and neighbours own the front).
