The house was full of charm and character. Plenty of space.
The property was well positioned to walk around town to shops, the Nut, the beach, etc. The house was well presented with good quality furnishings. There are many different sitting areas which would be good for larger families. It offered a fully equiped kitchen but take everything with you, there are no staples to use at oil, no oil, salt, pepper, etc. nothing. Also be prepared with milk etc. as we got caught out after arriving late and the shop had closed.
On arrival Stanley was blowing a gale and you stepped quickly into this wonderful old building.
This old Masonic Club has been quaintly renovated into a three bedroom home.
We arrived late afternoon and Stanley was showing us its best with wind and rain. On entry and with a flick of a switch the house became very cosy.
In the morning the sun streamed in the kitchen window giving an amazing view of the Nut.
Even though the weather was terrible on arrival we were still able to walk along the road to the local pub and have a delicious dinner. Bookings recommended.
The kitchen was well laid out in the home and after this meal we prepared our remaining meals there.
There were four living spaces all of which we rotated through as we needed. Lounges near the tv, lounges at the back window with the view, lounges around a fireplace and a very good sized dining area.
The room we entered into has a small history displayed and some old historic pieces from the club if you are a history buff.
I went with my husband for our anniversary and were thrilled to stay there but going with a family would work very well.
Thanks to Paul for his help.
The place is very quirky.
The lounge area is HUGE.
But inside was VERY hot............none of the windows open............and there were no fans or air conditioning............made sleeping a bit uncomfortable.
We couldn't find the BBQ either.
We did enjoy sitting outside......watching people walk up the track to the nut.
There was a cute little rabbit who came out from under the decking at sunset to eat the grass.
The place is ideal for families or groups...................just pack a fan.
Ruth and Andrew.
Great location with view of the Nut
This is a large accommodation that was very comfortable for 4 people. It had great character and was any easy walk to the historic parts of Stanley.
In a great location, very well equipped with every thing you could need
The only thing is that it needs a really good clean
A new experience staying in Masonic Lodge
Stanley a delightful town were 7 friends enjoyed 2 days recently in The Lodge. A delightful experience staying in a well appointed property that still reflected its past.
