Loved Mystery Bay but do believe the cottage needs a proper clean.
This is our second time staying at the cottage. We love it but was disappointed in cleanliness. There was cob webs, dust, insects, bird poo and hair. Not sure if owner aware.
We are glad you like Mystery Bay Kacey but disappointed that you didn't contact us when you arrived if you were unhappy. We would have asked the cleaner to attend again as we value people sharing our gorgeous coastal cottage.
Old fashioned South Coast charm
Just like my maiden aunts' classic south coast cottage where we spent our summer holidays but with a few extra comforts - there are decks for lounging and dining and the Queen beds are very comfortable. More than enough cooking equipment to turn out some fabulous meals. It took a bit of getting used to the plumbing but we found the shower in the garage was best for washing off the salt and sand. What a stunning location - but don't expect great mobile phone reception - we enjoyed exploring the beaches north and south, snorkelling in the bay and reading books instead. A great holiday and a real break from the hustle-bustle
Great location and a comfortable stay in a classic coast house
Didis cottage is a great place to stay in mystery bay. Short walk to beach and bushwalking also nearby. Comfortable beds and everything you need in the kitchen. Fabulous deck with water views and the sea breeze. Terrific shower in the garage for after the beach!
Beautiful Spot for a Family Beach Holiday
Our family of two adults and two children (10) and (13) spent a week here in January 2019. We have been coming to this area for many years and Mystery Bay is an absolute jewel. The beach has a gentle bay area with crystal clear water and there are a few waves for those who need a bit more action. The cottage is an easy 5 minute walk from the beach and it is glorious to go to sleep at night listening to the ocean.
The cottage is a quintessential beach cottage and the four of us were comfortable and content. The beds are very comfortable and the main bedroom has a view of the ocean. The only negative was lighting the gas oven, which was a little scary.
The South Coast is a wonderful place for a holiday and Mystery Bay is the perfect spot to relax. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.
Thank you for the feedback regarding the oven and your review. Mystery Bay is a gorgeous area, so glad you had a great family holiday. You are welcome back anytime.
A beautiful spot and super cozy home
We loved our stay at Didi's cottage. The house is a great base to hang out, cook, play and prepare for walks and beach adventures. Thank you for sharing your lovely home!
So pleased to have shared our cottage with you all. Mystery Bay is a great place to explore. We look forward to you visiting again.
Great house. Great decks with views and with shade. Beaches terrific -lots different places to swim
Everything you could need in house plus a ping pong table in shed.
Mystery Bay is situated 8 km south of Narooma and about 8 km north of 'River Cottage' and the artist hub of Central Tilba.
Mystery offers some great sheltered swimming spots as well as surfing beaches. Walks and adventures are to be had along the pristine coastline, cliff faces and forests in the adjoining Eurobodalla National Park, or further afield. There is a small park and public BBQS but no shops – nothing but the sounds of the birds and the ocean.
Nearby Narooma - has a library, pool, marina, shops, restaurants and clubs, golf, boardwalk, playgrounds, fresh seafood, boats for hire on Wagonga Inlet, boats to Montague Island where you can also choose to swim with the seals, boats to go whale watching (in season) and fishing.
Tilba area is well known for its fresh produce markets (Saturday mornings) as well as cheese and Tilba Valley Wines.
Also take day trips north to Bateman’s Bay and Clyde River or south to Bermagui and Bega.
