Our family's home away from home in the tropics
David and Leslie Frost
About David and Leslie Frost
David spent many years in the antique business as a restorer and French polisher. Leslie has recently retired from her position as the environmental manager of the Australian Antarctic Division.
David and Leslie Frost purchased this House in 2012
Why David and Leslie Frost chose Port Douglas
We bought this as our holiday house to escape the cold winters in Tasmania. Leslie spent many of her summers in Antarctica, so the tropics have always appealed to her. We do not have other properties, so you will find this is a complete family home.
What makes this House unique
Love the lifestyle in Port Douglas. Love being able to have all the doors and louvers open all the time, the lush gardens and tropical plants. Love the sounds of the wildlife at night. Port is very flat, so great for bike riding - nothing better than picking a sunrise at low tide and riding on the beach.

Could not ask for more!
Had we known we would love your home and Port Douglas so much, we would have made plans to stay longer! Your space made us feel right at home. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds were so comfortable, and there was plenty of space for our party of 4 to spread out. The bikes were awesome! The many bars/restaurants made it hard to cook at home because they were so good! We appreciated ALL your suggestions of what to do. Grant's kitchen was our favorite for breakfast/lunch. 4 Mile beach was perfect and so different from our beaches in North Carolina, USA. We especially enjoyed walking the path up the rocky cliffs at the end of it (that connects to the park). Beautiful views! We went on your recommendation to use Wavelength to snorkel the barrier reefs- excellent day! There were only 12 people on our boat! Due to the time of year the water was rough but the reef did not disappoint! The crew was very informative and great to spend the day with. Thank you for helping us create wonderful memories!
Home away from home
We really enjoyed staying here. It had everything we needed and more. It was also very comfortable and in a nice setting. A wonderful place to relax after a day of exploring!
We loved having everything so close. Just a short walk to shops, restaurants and the beach.
The owners did a great job communicating before arrival. I would recommend this home and definitely would stay here again!
Amazing, amazing, amazing
This property was absolutely fantastic. Beautifully presented, very clean and so well equipped with everything we needed. Used the bikes and tennis racquets. Amazing location and the perfect end to our 3 week road trip. Will definitely return and will not hesitate to recommend
Very nice stay in a convenient location.
Everything worked great. Comfortable beds.
Comfortable and convenient for family of 5
Everything was handled professionally from the start. Great location near the beach and shopping. All the amenities of home. I highly recommend staying here on your next visit to port Douglas!
Well equipped spacious unit
David’s unit was spacious and well equipped. We loved the hammock on the 2nd floor balcony.
Not really a zoo, the Rainforest Habitat at the turnoff to Port Douglas has 'breakfast with the birds' and lots of animals, including crocodiles. Great fun for kids and parents. Mossman Gorge is wonderful and the Daintree World Heritage Rainforest is a great day trip. Hartley's Crocodile Adventures is also worth a visit.
