About Lisa Fitzpatrick
We are a young family of five, with 3 boys aged 6, 3.5 and 18 mths. We live in Perth but regularly travel down to the south West as we have family & friends there, including my husband's sister who is a vet and founded Vasse Vets in 2015. Her and her husband Pete, two young and their version of animal farm live on 100 acres about 20mins inland from Busselton.
Lisa Fitzpatrick purchased this House in 2006
Why Lisa Fitzpatrick chose Busselton
I'm originally from London, and fell in love with Busselton from a combination of an ex-partners parents who still live there, and competing in events in the South West including the Jetty Swim and Half Ironman. I love the miles of beautiful untouched beaches and relaxed atmosphere, but still so close to a large town centre. The house is in a quiet area and is a home away from home for a young family, accommodating multiple generations. we are licenced to sleep 12 in 4 bedrooms and 1 second lounge (dbl). The main bedroom has a queen bed and ensuite, the second bedroom a queen bed, and the two kids rooms both having a double/single bunk each. at no extra rental charge there is a boori matilda cradle, portacot, stroller, playpen. two highchairs, potty, step, kids sofas, kids seats, kids dining table and stools, kids plastic plates and cutlery and just about anything else you need. we even have an hot and cold outdoor shower to rinse them off from the beach (or for that morning nudi wake up!), just warn David next door!!
What makes this House unique

Great Family accomodation
We were very happy with our stay. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed and is in an excellent location.
Not provided with all details and 'hidden' charges
Firstly was told linen was included, then found out it was not.
Secondly, no BBQ available on arrival, it arrived on the second day.
Thirdly, the house has a major ant problem, ants crawling everywhere. Finally, the terms and conditions included a 3.5 hour cleaner post stay - all items on the checklist provided by the owner were cleaned by me but not 'thorough' enough on the BBQ - so the cleaner felt it was OK to charge extra $$ to clean - even though there should have been no way she utilised the full 3.5 hours to clean the rest of the property.
Owner offered to split the cleaning charges with me 50/50 and then changed her mind when I told her that I would follow up with Stays/HomeAway as she considered this as threatening.
Owner was initially pleasant to deal with and apologised for not sending the full terms and conditions of her property. (I had never been provided these until after the additional charges were charged to me). Owner then became rude and hung up when contacted without listening and when the cleaner was contacted she refused to offer any explanation of the additional charges.
This guest stayed with his car racing team for the Forrest Rally Car race. The cleaning invoice for his stay was 3 hours and 35 mins and cost $261 substantiated by photos including a brand new BBQ delivered the first morning of his stay not even attempted to be wiped down (compared to our typical cleaning cost of $140-$180). As per our terms and conditions which we have had in place for over 5 years and are embedded within stayz site (acknowledged by stayz on his formal complaint), we have a 3 hour limit and require that the BBQ be cleaned - and as such we deducted $50 from the bond which the guest found unsatisfactory ; we have tourism accreditation a and as part of that I not required to but I personally send communications to guests via email. I acknowledged a typo in my original email regarding linen and subsequently my not emailing our attachment in my own administrative error). I also acknowledged there was not a BBQ present on the first night of his stay as Harvey Norman due to the immediate decommissioning of the old one that day - to which I was told 'he had to buy $100 worth of fish and chips for his team" as a result despite us having a fully stocked kitchen. As a gesture of goodwill I offered him to split the difference on the $50 and I would return him personally $25. When I did not do this immediately due to being in the UK with a sick father and two young children he demanded full $50 return or threatened to contact stayz which I was fine for him to do and which he did. He then proceded to contact and be rude to my property manager, my old property manager (whose number was on a old verson of the T's and C's i sent from the UK - all I had) and then called my husband as he did not get the answer he wanted. He then called me 30 mins before I had a work interview which I explained I needed to leave the house for - this was his reference to putting the phone down. He had absolutely no empathy for the fact we are a young family as well as a holiday house operator, both with full time jobs which have their own commitments. We operate for families like ourselves and have done so for 12 years without complaint (This is the first formal stayz complaint we have EVER received). We were recognised by the receipt of WA tourism accreditation on the basis of this personal service recently. I have personally astounded by the lack of recognition of the state they left the house or the fact those policies apply to them. They housed a full team for ~$40 a person a night - I would not rent to them again and suggest they pay full hotel/motel rates for their team in future. Stayz have closed the case with our position upheld. best regards, Lisa
Great For a Large Family
Loved the stay, would consider trying to get a weeks holiday in early jan for the fam
Thanks Jess I’m glad you had a good stay! We keep trying to make improvements so to be a home away from home for families ;)
Fantastic house that makes you feel at home on Holiday. Plenty of room for the Family!
Had a fabulous time at this property and will definitely like to stay again, lots of activities to do while at home for the whole family.
Kyaks were great fun and house is in a brilliant location.
Home has a lovely feel and was maintained well and very clean.
Clean, bright and great for family groups
super handy to be so close to an IGA supermarket and Bottle shop. Love the fish and chip shop which we enjoyed down the beach across the road. will be back with our friends and kids as we can all fit.
Great spot in Busso!
Group of us stayed here for the Busselton Half Marathon. Nice big place and awesome outside area for a bbq and relaxed times. Not too far from the beach and the street goes directly into town. Only downside on our behalf was not reading about the BYO sheets and pillow cases before leaving home. 10/10 tho!
2 mins walk to local shops including bottle shop, supermarket, thai takeaway, fish and chip shop, petrol station, pharmacy and hairdressers
