About Annie Veronica Thomas
I was born in 1948 the middle of seven children. We grew up in Strathfield until I was 12 years old. As children we always had attachments to country life encouraged by parents who had lived in the country during their youth and beyond. Today three of us have chosen country areas to live in. One of my brothers lives in Maleny, Queensland on property breeding horses for polo with a polo field used by local community playing Saturday and Wednesdays. Well into his seventies enjoys playing the game................I keep reminding him to be careful............I have a background in nursing, relocating executives into Sydney, office administration, parenting and grandparenting. Family come to visit from time to time house big enough to house them all in self contained accommodation which works well for us all. Spending numerous hours bike riding in the area, croquet and the girls always enjoy the shopping. We enjoy barbeques and restaurants are user friendly to cater for all tastes and appetites.
Annie Veronica Thomas purchased this Cottage in 2008
Why Annie Veronica Thomas chose Burradoo
Southern Highlands of NSW always appealed to me from the climate, country charm and close proximity to many locations. I fell in love with this property and managed to purchase Clubbe Cottage in 2008 as a place for myself and to have my four children and their families visit during holidays and weekends. Also, with the view to one day making the wing available to have guests stay in a completely self contained accommodation atmosphere. This happened in 2009. It has given me great pleasure over the years to be able to give guests who have stayed an opportunity to enjoy the charm, quiet, elegance, sophistication and beauty. Clubbe Cottage was built in 1890 as part of a recreational area allocated and donated by the Throsby family for the local community. Four Club houses were built for various sporting activities. Clubbe Cottage was originally designated as the Polo Club house with polo fields across the road. Another was for a tennis club house, another for archery. Another for croquet and another for cricket. The main reception house is today the original building belonging to Chevalier Collage. This house accommodated important gentry of its day for receptions and important occasions. The area was originally opened by Lord Jersey from London. Jersey Road, Woollahra being called after him to name one. We have a copy of this information in a folder in accommodation for those guests who are interested. Clubbe Cottage over the years has had many notable charismatic characters own and reside here which gives it a wonderful feel a presence all of its own.
What makes this Cottage unique
Unique benefits of living here is the four distinct seasons which can never be missed. The colour of trees in autumn/fall is unique. Mists. Flowering shrubs camellias and bulbs in winter. Spring is a picture of amazing beauty not forgetting the hydrangeas and roses of summer. Clubbe Cottage exists in a quiet area with a country feel no curbing and guttering on the street scape. ie country roads to ride bikes (supplied) down to the river 500 meters away. Many have enjoyed picnicking amongst the cows, horses and alpacas.

All you could want in a place - thank you!
I had two nights at Clubbe Cottage and I have just left feeling well rested and recuperated! The bed was extremely comfortable and the bath just topped it off. Took the bike out for a cycle along the river and stunning streets. Annie also left eggs from the chooks on the porch which were delicious on toast!
Thanks Annie for a great stay!
