Warm, Peaceful, Delightful, Hospitality
Lorelle was a sweet lady who loves the nature and art, and her hospitality made our stay extra lovely. Cannot appreciate more that she let us stay with our dogs, and had so much understanding with it. Her beautiful house is such a warm place to stay, with all the arts we really enjoyed our peaceful moments. Breakfast was also very nice, really enjoyed homemade flavor from her beautiful garden. Thanks a lot for your hospitality Lorelle, wish you all well!
Pleasant quiet clean accommodation.
We stayed there 2 nights. Everything was very good except on first day there was another family in the other rooms and they were very noisy!!
Phone network is poor. And no wifi facilities there.
We were delighted to host Razaur & his wife & Monty their dog. They were very pleasant guests & I allowed their friends to rendezvous with them here, before travelling to the Twelve Apostles, Great Ocean Road, Vic., ( Usually this is pre-arranged.)
Just prior to arriving, Razaur had communicated that he was bringing these friends to stay at our Retreat as well but I responded that we had another private booking.Alternatively, there were rooms available on the following night.
If guests want total privacy they can book all rooms in advance for an additional cost.
Mobile & Wifi connections can depend on the guest's provider.
Lovely property with a charming host
We enjoyed our stay with our little dog Shadow
Warren & Joy were delightful, appreciative guests.
Thoroughly recommended, friendly and hospitable
A little piece of country, so close to a major city! Barraboola Hills Retreat was private, warm and inviting. Hosts were hospitable, beds comfortable. Country breakfast was plentiful and gave good options. Great for an overnight stay or a country getaway for a few days.
We were happy to meet you & hope that Cassie was impressed with nearby Marcus Oldham Agricultural College.
Lovely pet friendly country retreat
We stayed for 4 nights and found the place very relaxing and comfortable.
quirky, convenient, pleasant and private
Ideal hideaway for anyone with boarders at Geelong Grammar, and who is foreign to Victoria's many outstanding, well developed and preserved tourist sights like the 12 Apostles, and the whole coastline beauty around the peninsula. Sublime rolling-hill estates and rural farmland. Best shopping - you can park outside the shop in Barwon Heads!
Very comfortable; excellent library and fabulous fire-place. Lovely wild garden, and fresh air. Coffee situation could improve; fresh ground coffee a must for travelers seeking luxurious morning.
The delightful hosts are discreet and courteous; the human hosts, Lorelle and family, even more delightful, and who are amusing and hospitable, embodying Victoria's heritage can-do character.
We spent a week there being housed and fed brekky like one of the familiy, eventually being taken along to the local church to celebrate Anzac Day. Were privileged to hear some very valuable history from the living museum congregation, and which endorsed human kindness and immigration policy; French citizens nursing the soldiers after rehabilitation, were then sponsored to live in Australia after the war; good news story:)
Mt. Duneed Estate , 8 minutes away, holds spectacular concerts with International Performers of the calibre of Elton John & Sting.
Markets every week-end are very popular in the Geelong Region.
The Twelve Apostles,SurfCoast is another major attraction.
