Huge amount of space
Raj's beach house was the perfect multi-family beach house. Great entertainment areas as well as the ability to have your private space.
Great house for families.
Thank you Chris we had a lovely stay. We stayed 5 nights and it was spacious and ideal for our group. There was plenty of space for the 6 of us to have our own individual space and communal space. The house was clean and had everything we required. The house was close to the beach, shops and bakery. It was also very peaceful.
Ideal location an plent of room.
The house was perfect for our family of six. Everyone had thier own space with plenty of communal spaces. The location was ideal together into Byron Bay and surrounds.
Loved this funky pole house.w
5 friends attending the Writers Festival shared this house for 3 nights. There was plenty of room and the easy walk to the beach was a big attraction. The house is stocked with plenty of books and dvds that we didn't have time to enjoy...this time! We will be back.
Help from owner Chris was much appreciated.
Poorly managed- too strict rules/cleaning
This house is big and caters for many people. the house is very dusty though. I pride myself on respecting the host and leaving the property clean. This host is a bit ridiculous when it comes to hospitality. He sent me an email thanking for me keeping the property clean, however was charging me an amount for sorting out his rubbish bins outside (the bins were full when we got there so we fit in what we could and left the rest of the rubbish next to it in rubbish bags). Funnily enough he also states in his rules that it's ok to do this - apparently not though. I sent him the below email:
The bins were almost full when we got there - so I don't think this was exactly our fault that the rubbish didn't fit in? I have never had money taken from my bond before and have always received great reviews, and I am really not happy about this. I think you are taking advantage of the bond system and being unfair. In fact, I think I will be putting in a complaint about this. We complied to your incredibly strict rules (couldn't move the pool table, must wipe and put away all dishes, vacuum the floor, clean the BBQ, noise regulations, rubbish rules etc..) and to be perfectly honest, you should really draw attention to these rules when advertising your 'holiday' house. If you did, I really don't think you would get much business. I understand you want to make your life easier, but there is a certain level of hospitality and service that you still need to provide being the host - I think the rubbish should definitely be covered in this. Next time, perhaps you should ensure the bins are empty - our rubbish would of certainly fit in then.
I wouldnt recommend.
It is normal for guests to be required to leave the property neat and tidy, put sorted rubbish in the appropriate bins and respect the neighbours with regard to noise. Byron shire only empties the landfill bin fortnightly. You may get a landfill bin that is half full of rubbish (never a full bin). I have a bin that is twice the standard size. We also have 2 recyclable bins. If you cannot fit your landfill into the red bin then I have another bin if you ask. Once their rubbish was sorted it fitted in the bins and didn’t need to be left on the carport pavers.
Nice peaceful place
We recently spent some time at Rajas Beach House on our trip to Byron Bay.
The host, Chris, was friendly and helpful, the house was clean, cared for and comfy.
It was such a nice place to come back to after being at the beach or out and about and although there are some nice places to eat in Byron we still managed to make use of the well equipped kitchen to cook up some pancakes and chill out on the deck.
Peaceful place with nice trees, flowers and birds and plenty of space. We’ll be back.
