So much better than a motel. Great location, furnished with style and had everything you could expect and more. Customer service and communication could not be faulted.
Property does not have 2 bathrooms.
Please note that this property has only 1 bathroom despite being advertised as having 2. The 2nd bathroom, off the small second bedroom, is only a toilet and vanity. There is no shower here. The property was extremely dusty throughout. The hot plates were rusty (the main one not working), oven filthy, washing machine had black mould in the door seal, dryer filter not cleaned and no bedside tables in second bedroom - not enough room. If this property was thoroughly cleaned and advertised as 1 bathroom I would consider it an excellent choice. The main living room/ kitchen area is large, well furnished and the kitchen very well equipped. There is a small balcony. The property is on the first floor up 2 short flights of stairs. Unfortunately, there is no sound proofing and you hear the front door open and shut all night. Apart from this, the neighbours are very quiet and you should respect them as they live here permanently. ie. No parties! Security is good as is access to trams to the city.
We’re saddened to hear that someone did not enjoy their stay at Soho52, and despite multiple visits to the property, we were not able to please these visitors. As can be seen from our other reviews, this is not the usual experience of people who stay with us. This is disappointing as we endeavour to provided good quality accommodation, with responsive service, that is affordable. While people are welcome to post their personal opinions in these reviews, there are a few factual issues that we would like to clarify. There is limited information that can be included in the header for the property on Stayz, but when read in conjunction with the photos and description, we hope that people will be clear about the property set up. The oven has some minor baked on residue from being used over the years, but is in very good order. The washing machine rubber at the front has some stains on the rubber that cannot be removed, but it is not mould. The hotplates have no rust, and this was checked by the technician who came to fix the broken hotplate. It is a good quality hotplate and is now fully functional again. A replacement hotplate was offered to the guest while waiting for the repair, but the guest declined. We believe that Soho52 is a lovely property in great condition, and fortunately the vast majority of our guests agree with us. However, if any maintenance issues arise during your stay, we are confident that you will find that we are very responsive in addressing any concerns.
Great place, great location
We spent a week at Soho 52 and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had our own car but really didn't need it because the access to public transportation was excellent. Gertrude Street was right there with its many groovy bars and restaurants but you could easy eat in at the apartment with its well resources kitchen. Very comfortable bedrooms and Katrina was a welcoming host.
We will be back!!
Convenient and Comfortable
Katrina was very accommodating, letting us drop off bags early. Soho52 is quiet, clean and comfortable. Just around the corner from Gertrude St and Brunswick St where there's so many great food options even vegan! Air con was much appreciated on the day we arrived - 38 degrees. We loved our stay and would totally recommend.
