We want to pay good money to go to somewhere that is an apartment set up for a holiday/business trip, not set up as someone’s home/weekender that they rent out for extra cash.
Great location, property needs work
This property is in a great location (very handy for the ferry) and has excellent views from the lounge/rear bedroom. However, the property could do with some work to bring it up to a good standard. The extractor fan in the kitchen above the hob was held up with gaffer tape, the lampshade in the front bedroom was broken, there was lots of “stuff” in the wardrobes and it could have been cleaner. It was value for money but they could charge a bit more in order for it to be brought up to a higher standard. I hope the constructive criticism is taken in the spirit it is intended.
Great position, jaw-dropping views
Just had a great stay in Balmain East, close to ferry wharf and frequent buses. The photo doesn't do justice to the view of the Bridge and all the shipping activity in front of it. Would certainly use it again.
Great location amazing views
We had a fabulous 4 days. Easy access to ferry and buses. Local pub and cafes in walking distance....... keep in mind the walk is up a hill. The apartment was clean and well presented. Would definitely revisit :)
Very impressive view.
Whilst the view was stunning and the location was superb the apartment itself was very dated. Ceiling fans were very noisy, windows were also in need of some attention and the balcony was under repair. Beds were comfortable . However it was a delightful place to stay, and our UK relatives were over the moon with the location. Would have liked to have spent more time in East Balmain. Thank you Jason and Elise.
We had several issues with this apartment.
Firstly the description says that there is air conditioning. There is none. We only book properties with air conditioning in Australia in the summer months and so we were very disappointed that the description was wrong, and in great discomfort during the nights.
Secondly there are notices up to say do not lean on the balustrade protecting the balcony from falls onto hard surfaces a storey below. It is supposed to be under repair, but the property should not be let out in this condition. It is obviously a safety issue, if someone was to fall against the guarding there is limited protection.
Thirdly, the beds looked and smelt as though they had been slept in. We washed the sheets and pillow cases before using the beds!
There were other issues such as cracked glass in the door out onto the balcony, tired and damaged furniture and kitchen fittings.
The only redeeming feature is the view of the bridge, but we feel that we could have found a similar property (without air conditioning) a good deal cheaper.
Our complaints to the owners have fallen on deaf ears
1. There is a portable air conditioner in the wardrobe.
2. The balustrade is under repair and it is a strata issue in our building. This is beyond our control at the moment as the repairs take place.
3. We guarrantee that the beds had not been slept in and were freshly made with clean sheets prior to the guests arrival.
We are sorry you couldnt find any redeemable features for your stay and suspect this negative review is because we would not refund due to the strata issue which I mentioned is beyond our control.
