About Julie and Peter Ryan
Qualified land restorers and managers with a vision for landscape, diverse wildlife and natural bush, quietness and natural beauty, and gardens.
Julie and Peter Ryan purchased this House in 2005
Why Julie and Peter Ryan chose Mullumbimby Creek
Stunning mountain and ocean views. Run-down horticultural farm in need of restoration. Previously a horticultural farm operated by Californians, and subsequently, a Japanese Zen Buddhist priest and family. Now a peaceful, restored 32 acres of native bush, habitat, and gardens with some avocados and bananas.
What makes this House unique
Soaring cliffs in backyard, ocean views, mountain views, own creek and waterfall, and only 15 mins from services and coast. Quite unique.

Our stay far exceeded our expectations. Photos don't do it justice. The place is immaculate - everything is thought of. It is so tranquil on the balcony. You can hear the hum of the waterfall, and the chirping of birds - that's it! You cannot beat the morning sunrise whilst lying it bed. What a way to wake up.
Cannot recommend this location enough if you're wanting to get away from it all. Just magical.
Would love to do it all over again!!!
We had a fantastic time there! The view is to die for, the beautiful gardens were fantastic to explore. Our girls (3&5yrs) just loved collecting the fresh avocados & rolling up and down the hills.
The kitchen had everything you could need, with the local shops only a short drive away.
I was a little disappointed the fireplace in the bedroom wasn't working at the time but the one if the loungeroom sure made up for it.
It was the perfect family get away!!!
First class hospitality and a very impressive property
Can’t wait to visit again
Great place, just perfect.
A spectacular location combined with the beautiful gardens made this a fantastic place to stay. The owners are very good people and the town is friendly and down to earth. Our time here was a truely idillic. Thank you.
The cottage is in a very beautiful location with stunning views from any window. It is roomy and spotlessly clean. Perfectly set up for self catering. The gardens are just beautiful to look at or to walk around. The cottage has everything to make you comfortable no matter what season. The quiet location lends itself to peace and relaxation. The nearby towns of Mullumbimby and Bangalow are lovely to visit to shop and have coffee. The local markets are fantastic for self catering as the quality of the produce is excellent. It's the best of both worlds with superb countryside and beautiful beaches nearby. The Host Peter is very laid back and nice to chat to. We didn't get to meet his wife but obviously has a passion for gardening and continues to improve their land with really hard work. They live in heaven amongst huge avocado trees and bananas. We will definitely recommend this cottage and would love to go and stay again, particularly with overseas visitors.
Totally relaxing with stunning views
Peter and Julie have something very special here. One of the best places we have stayed. Private and spotlessly clean. Surrounded by bush, lush gardens, birds and ever changing skies. The cottage has everything you need and the fresh herbs and veges are a lovely touch. The hosts work so hard on this property and it shows. It’s like a resort.
A total change from city life and such a well needed refresher. Thankyou Peter and Julie we look forward to returning very soon.
Nestled beneath volcanic cliffs, sitting above the meandering creek and valley. Behind iconic Byron Bay, in a quiet mountain setting with stunning views of cliffs, mountains, and ocean.
Lovely home surrounded by manicured gardens and rainforest, and short walks. Taste spray-free avocados and bananas when in season. Sit by the wood fire in winter, swim in the tropical pool in summer.
Close to Mullumbimby, a welcoming village with good amenities.
