Naomi fell into Bernie's arms (literally) at the Past Time skating rink , were married in 1985 and moved North to Onamia, Mn in 1988. Bernie is a Contractor and Naomi a Massage Therapist. Their 4 boys, Gabriel, Michael, Jon and Gene enjoy music, hunting, fishing, building and crafting. Gabe has crafted over 400 cribbage boards made from diamond willow inlaid with his favorite agates and built the stone fireplace you see in our cabin. He works as a carpenter with his Dad. Mike is navigating city life in Mpls working with His Workmanship Landscape Service and is a joy to be around. He enjoys playing cards, games, and dancing. Gene finished his 2400 mile trek down the Mississippi River in a kayak, works in Real Estate now and is happily married to Julia, who graduated with her RN degree. He loves to play his guitar. Jon married the love of his life, Lauren, who gave us our first grandson, Blake and our new baby grand girl, Amelia. He works as an Engineer, and loves to hunt, Lauren is a dental hygienist, and excellent wife and mother.

Why Naomi or Bernie Iserman chose Garrison
Bernie and I originally came up North to work with a camp called Timber Bay, a retreat center particularly for hurting youth but also for church and other various retreats. We live adjacent to Timber Bay and have made this our home. We originally built the vacation rental home for our retirement. It is only 5 miles from our home and we enjoy the creativity it takes to keep it up and running, for guests who come up North for their vacation. The new constructed part of it is about 7 years old.
What makes this Cabin unique
The benefits include living next to a very popular vacation spot but also having the privacy and peace and quiet of the north woods. Its a 1 minute drive to the beach and wonderful activities around the Lake. We are surrounded by a variety of eateries, ATV and hiking and biking trails and beautiful sunsets and a star lit sky that will take your breath away.

We had a great time
Very close to the pine center Atv trails
Our road connects up with the pine center ATV trail. We have really enjoyed the trail ourselves with Good Food at Jr's Junction in Pine Center. Stay tuned for the Annual Haunted trail ride with food and hay rides in between. Oct 26
Great little getaway cabin
Cabin is 3 minutes from lake mille lacs and terry's boat harbor, we loved the bottom floor of this house and the hosts couldn't have been nicer. Will definitely stay again if the opportunity arises.
Terry's boat harbor is very accommodating to our guests with a reasonable rate. We're happy you enjoyed your time. Come on back for more fun!
Ideal for a rented boat
Property is fully equipped, both in terms of amenities and space, to put up a large family or 2 small ones; we went the latter route. That enormous basement room is ideal for any manner of board game or such. Location is barely a mile from the lake--walking distance, if you feel like it--and nearest point of interest on the lake is Terry's Boat Harbor, where you can rent a slip if you wanna leave a boat out overnight. Garrison's a 5-minute drive, so groceries and supplies are never inconvenient.
Thanks for the great review! We are glad that you enjoyed your time! We appreciate that we have customers who take personal responsibility to keep our property maintained for future guests. We enjoy giving our guests the opportunity to experience the Up North adventure. Always welcome!
Quiet and Comfortable
We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with our friends in this cozy and comfortable home. Everything we needed was provided. Naomi was very nice and gave us a tour and answered our questions and took the time to get to know us a little.
We were so blessed to have 4 great couples as guests at our cabin. They were respectful and gave attention to detail. You really know when you are dealing with quality people . They were easy to talk to and I enjoyed getting to know them a little.
Great getaway in the woods
If you're looking for a charming, quiet, and comfortable "retro style" weekend getaway for a reasonable price, this place is great. We only had 4 adults, but we easily could have had several more people staying there comfortably. We enjoyed the space, playing yard games we brought, as well as some provided by the owners, hanging out around the fire pit at night. Restaurants, groceries, and supplies are are accessible with a very short drive into town, and the casino is less than 15 minutes away.
Although it's explicitly mentioned in the listing, it's worth noting again you shouldn't expect to use the internet connection to be streaming Netflix for the kids or sending live video to Instagram or the like. It was enough we could stay in touch with our respective families, check the weather forecast, etc, as needed. Connected, without being TOO connected for a relaxing getaway. You're better off paying attention to the scenery instead of your screens anyway.
Wow! You said it all. Here's a guest who put the best construction on his Up North getaway. I appreciate the open honest review! what could have been an inconvenience turned into a benefit. I agree that sometimes it good to just turn off your phones. You may see an eagle or a moose, like was just seen here last week, and you wouldn't want to miss that experience. In the fall I encourage people to climb the 100 ft. fire tower in Kathio park to see all the colors from a birds eye view. The museum is celebrating 100 years of the history of the "jingle dress" a facinating story in pictures and rigalia. All in all I'm so amazed that "you got it!" I hope others experience it like you do. This is an amazing review! Thankyou
Great place to relax
Very good overall. Air conditioner was out and they were waiting for parts to get it fixed so they refunded a little money. Basement was very cool so it wasn’t a big deal. Very nice people - they even left us a bag of fresh strawberries!
We apologize again for the bad timing of the air conditioner not working. We are glad you enjoyed the strawberries. We hope you will stay with us again sometime. The air conditioner will definitely be working.
