Great house, super clean and full of charm
We really enjoyed our stay here and it is the third time I have stayed here over the years. It is always beautifully clean and I really love the retro feel to the house. The garden is such a joy and a perfect and safe place for our dogs to enjoy themselves. Fired up the pizza oven which was great fun, though I think our pizza making may need more practice.
Dean's Marsh is a great little town and the general store just down the road is full of yummy things to eat, both eat in and take away. We were lucky enough to be here for the festival, which was great fun and well organised. Rosie even won the the large dog race, more by good luck than any skill.
Would recommend this place to others.
Central to all there is to do in the Otways
We loved staying in this old style country home. The garden was overflowing with fruit and we were able to fight off the king parrots to collect the windfalls. Delicious. The pizza oven was used a couple of times and turned out great pizzas.
Loved the books and games that are supplied and had an hilarious game of trivial pursuit.
Beds were comfy and cool on the hot nights and when the weather turned cold there were blankets for extra warmth.
The bathroom was pretty basic but at least it was inside!
The nearby General Store was a caffeine lifesaver for the townies who came to visit us for the day. Great food as well.
Thanks Deb, you are a great host.
Friendly and Comfortable
We really enjoyed staying at Nanna's house. It's relaxed and comfortable.
It happily fits 6 people and has all the amenities you need to enjoy your stay. It was also very reasonably priced.
We were surprised at how cool the house stayed during what was a hot week.
It has everything you need. We brought board games but their are heaps there as well as a brilliant book collection. We loved the old tube telly.
Our dogs loved the garden and we are so grateful to Deb for offering to keep an eye on our puppies while we swam at the Pier to Pub.
The gravity feed tank water means very little pressure in the shower and we made sure we rinsed bathers and wetsuits at the beach to save water, but the shower was hot and you could wash yourself.
Dean's Marsh is a great location. We visited Lorne, Apollo Bay, The Otways and Winchelsea. There is a great little shop two doors down from Nanna's house where the coffee is amazing and the food is made from local produce. I don't think anyone noticed or cared that I popped down for a coffee in my pjs.
Thank you Deb for a wonderful stay. We are hoping Nanna's house might become an annual trip for us.
Was a pleasure to have you all at Nanna's house, so glad enjoyed your stay. I feel pretty lucky, in this quite little spot, to have a good coffee a short walk away !.....I often head down in my PJ's :)
Christmas at Nana's house
We had a lovely week over Christmas at Nana's house, the house is full of character and kept it's cool through a warm week. Thanks Deb for a great break and also for the Christmas tree.
Feels like arriving home
Lovely rustic house with beautiful garden full of birds and flowers. All character and retro furniture, makes this place warm and inviting. Super efficient wood stove and everything you need to cook up a meal. All day sun streaming through the big windows, means we will definitely be back.
Relaxing a welcoming retreat
Was so nice to walk in the front door and the fire was lit and the place was warm. A step back in time in this relaxed holiday house, a short walk to the local store and so quiet and peaceful.
Thanks Deb, glad you had a relaxing time at Nanna's :)
