Fabulous accommodation!
Had a fabulous 2N stay at the property last week. Place was cosy, clean and well-equipped with nice surrounding. Catherine was also a very nice and caring host, turning on the heaters beforehand so that we can arrive at a warm cosy house after knowing we will arrive late in the evening.

Amazing host!
Catherine is an amazing host, who came to our rescue after we were stranded by the Spirit of Tasmania cancellation. Even though her own home being flood-affected, she made sure we were well looked after. The home itself is beautiful and immaculately kept; the two living areas gave plenty of room to spread out. Couldn't recommend more highly.

Beautiful inviting home
The owners have ensured this home is clean, comfortable, spacious and well presented. It was perfect for our group to have seperate spaces as needed and the laundry and off street parking was a bonus.

About the host

Hosted by Catherine

Host profile image
Catherine and Willie have been living in Railton since 2003. They enjoy long walks and foodie tourism and are well-travelled within Tasmania, Australia and overseas. They also own and operate Seven Sheds Brewery which is located on a neighbouring property.

Why they chose this property

Catherine and Willie were already living on an adjacent property when they purchased this property in 2011. In 2016, they demolished a derelict cottage on the property to build this new home for their retirement. It was completed in 2017. They're not ready to retire yet, so they've furnished the home and made it available for short-stay visitor accommodation.

What makes this property unique

We love Railton's quiet village atmosphere, it's a small community with lots of great features. There's a free 5km parkrun on Saturday mornings, the Devonport to Dover Tasmanian Trail runs right through the town centre, there's a free BBQ at Lions Park, a playground and bicycle pump track at Goliath Park and the Wild Mersey Mountain Bike Trails which will eventually connect Latrobe through to Sheffield via Railton.
