Pleasant stay in the countryside
Spacious house that's great for families. We stayed for two nights, and while we didn't really have time to explore the surroundings or use the games room it was well equipped. The house itself is a bit 'rustic' & quirky - and sort of log cabin in style, but was fine for our short stay. Tiffanie communicated well and directions were easy to follow. If you are like us and don't want to cook on your holiday, just be aware that restaurants are a bit of a drive away. Overall - a very pleasant stay!
Quirky and fun. Brilliant for families.
We have just stayed at Lilypad Lodge over the Easter break. We are a family of 9 adults + 1 large dog, and yet there was still plenty of room in the house for all.
The house is best described as bohemian - off centre or even quirky. But this is it's real joy.
It's big enough for you to find a private spot for yourselves, but also big enough for all to be together comfortably. There is a entertainment room where some VERY competitive games of snooker and table tennis were had. While also having synchronising games of chess at the same time.
You can take a stroll to the dam on the property, or go for a walk around the country lanes, which I highly recommend. The valley that Lilypad Lodge is in is truly beautiful. Tiffaney, the wonderful owner of the property, gave us some tips on a nearby waterfall/waterhole. And further along to a spectacular lookout. I will not spoil it for you, but the journey to them is through small country towns and farms, through to rainforest, and open forests. If you have the time and means......DO IT!
Lilypad Lodge is centrally located to pretty much everywhere, beaches, townships. And even if you do need to drive a distance, it is a nice relaxing drive.
I would recommend Lilypad Lodge to families that want to be together, but still have space. For people that enjoy and appreciate beautiful countryside. And for people that like "quirky." I have given Lilypad Lodge a 5 star rating because of the "whole package."
We have been back a week and we are all still talking about our time at Lilypad Lodge.
Thank you Tiffaney for allowing my family to enjoy your home.
Relax in Peace and Quiet
We had a great time relaxing at Lilypad Lodge. Great to be able to take the dog and know she'd be fine in the yard while we went to the beach! All the facilities were as marked on the tin. Always nice to have a welcoming and responsive host.
Looking forward to heading back sometime soon.
A fantastic place to relax and refresh!
Lilypad Lodge offers a wonderful opportunity to kick back and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Manning Valley countryside. It's not too great a distance to drive to the water (20 minutes to Harrington) and close enough to townships like Taree and Port Macquarie for the odd urban adventure.
The house is extremely comfortable with all the necessities and is generously proportioned.
The wifi gives you some internet connectivity but the signal unfortunately wasn't particularly strong for media, at least during our stay. However, there is a fantastic billiards / table tennis table in a very large air-conditioned room to keep you away from the electronic distractions and make for some good old fashioned fun.
The yard proved terrific for the odd cricket match or for just sitting under a tree getting lost with a book or a crossword.
Our host, Tiffanie, provided exceptional support leading up to and during our stay.
We really had a great time at Lilypad and would recommend it to anyone seeking a countryside escape that's not far from the beach.
Regards, Jeff (Sydney).
Peaceful relaxing hideout
Thanks Tiffanie, my family really enjoyed some down time watching the birds and other wildlife at your lovely property. Local beaches and Waitui Falls were great for a swim and not too far away and we managed to road test lots of excellent local cafes. The kids enjoyed learning how to play pool and table tennis in the afternoons and watching movies in their own hangout upstairs. Cheers, Peter & family.
Lovely idyllic retreat to get away from it all!
We met friends from Brisbane at Lilypad Lodge and had a lovely relaxing time there. The property is nestled in beautiful green rolling hills, was clean and welcoming and true to the photos on the website. We now have some wonderful photos of our own of the beautiful lilypad dam! A true delight. The view from the new deck was stunning but the absence of outdoor furniture was a bit disappointing. We understand that this may have been because the deck was just finished and furniture not yet in place but is was still a bit of an issue for us since we love to sit outside to eat and enjoy the natural surroundings. The property had everything else we needed and even we four mature-aged visitors made good use of the big games room! Tiffanie is a delightful host, quick to respond and generous with her advice abot how to enjoy the property and the local area. Thank you Tiffanie.
I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit and loved our new deck - it was a pleasure having you stay. Yes it was all in the timing - the only full outdoor setting we had when you stayed was on the downstairs deck next to the BBQ looking out into the forest, as the new front deck was only just completed and only had the plastic armchairs, small collapsible table and umbrella from its small predecessor on it. It now has an outdoor setting of its own in addition to those things. I'm just sorry we couldn't organise that in time for your visit.
